Wow, the quality is pretty terrible, especially for $1000. I don't care if they get the job done, I would expect a lot more, even from just a pride standpoint.

Yeah I know 16 year olds that can weld better than that.

I know from all of my year following unobtanium on instagram that this is not the greatest.

Thanks.

Nor was the customer NOT service I had to painfully force when I went through a 2 month, [2x] motor build with him. Have yet to run it long enough to see if the rings are going to seal..

This is Johnson's header. We already put it on the car, the head side flanges were good on the crush rings, didn't think to check this side but it's coming back apart after his $300 uppipe is hacked together by supposedly 'moving' a stud over and welding it in place. Something I did on a $50 eBay uppipe and was not happy with myself.

FYI, it took 1.5 months for him to deliver on this header and he did it in what sounds like one day after he'd told Johnson it had been 'started' on for weeks. While the design is nice, paying $1000 for something like this is not in my books.

1.5 Months ain't that bad.

I have a TWE Header because I believe they are the best EL design out there.

As for everything else involving TWE, It's disspointing to hear nothing has changed.

It's not a better design than the killer B. Vband, piping, 321ss.

But isn't the killer b a lot more expensive?
Do you think it's worth the extra cost?

yeah, the 321 stainless is much more durable than 304 ss which eventually gets brittle and cracks at the flanges. 321 is a lot more expensive than 304ss

16 gauge 1.75 OD 304 costs $8 USD a foot and 321 costs $16USD a foot.

Yeah, that's how it ends up being double anything else.  To be honest, how often do the flanges crack?  If they do, you can buy another set of the same headers and you will have spent the same as one set of Killer B headers.  Mind you they have a liftetime warranty ont he headers from Killer B for the original purchaser, but I don't know anyone that has kept their car that long.

Or heat wrap, or gaskets.

Probably even more up front because if you're spending this much on a header... don't wrap it just have it Swaintech coated it's made super easy since they will have it done for you & really are we worried about cost efficiency after paying this much for a header. I know they are 321 but I've seen a set of KB headers that have been wrapped after the wrap was removed it was covered in surface corrosion. Not the biggest deal with 321 but really why expose your beautiful header to this when you can have it completely sealed off from the elements and have a coating that will more evenly distribute the heat (compared to wrapping) & perform nearly as well as a wrap (most coating doesn't offer the same performance heat wrapping does but Swaintech is much thicker). Also wrapping is recommended to be replaced around once a year, after you factor that in Swaintech is cheaper if you plan to keep the header for years.

Disappointing looking at pictures of the TWE header. I know Tom has been in the business for awhile so I would expect better from him. I wonder how those welds will hold up over time. For a header made out 304 SS, the Invidia or Tomei might be a better choice.

Another option is the Full Race 2 bolt header. It is made out of very thick 316 stainless and fairly good quality. I bought one of these when Full Race first started making them.

Full Race are super nice as well! It's my understanding that these headers were compared & the results went something like Full Race had a bit of a higher midrange while Killer B had a bit of a higher top end but were fairly comparable, but now I'm looking for the thread & can not find it can anybody confirm this? Either way the only reason I'm going with Killer B over Full Race are less welds in Killer B design (especially with the new cast collector). Although I know they both have lifetime warantee to cracks (however I do not know if the warantee is honoured on Full Race if you wrap or coat the header, I do know it is with Killer B).

I wonder how useful the Killer B warranty is for Canadian owners.

321SS may require annealing after re-welding?

Warranty isn't transferable.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Killer B stuff is good, but it would be the to and from shipping that would kill that deal!  There are a couple good local welders that could repair that manifold for less then 1 way shipping cost to Killer B.
