This is where the story becomes relevant, drunk thief's lawyer later filed suit for negligence against the owner of the parked truck. The drunk thief crashing a stolen motorcycle, paralyzing himself for the rest of his life won a 3 million dollar judgment against a random person based on the fact they parked a truck facing the wrong direction. The court deemed the orientation of the truck responsible for the injury's sustained because it had a trailer hitch thus making it more dangerous when compared to a person impacting a front bumper.

I think of this every time I see a vehicle parked the wrong way. Something so seemingly minor most likely ruined a person life, and I'm not talking about the dumbass who graduated in a wheelchair.

From my understanding, and a lot of people never think of this, is that parked vehicles can be at fault for an accident (For example you park too far off the curb, or in a no parking zone, park to close to a crosswalk).
Anyway point being, make sure you know how to park correctly, a skill which a lot of Calgarians do not have.

My Forester got towed for being parked backwards while I was up north at work. It wasn't running well and I told the wife to just park it and I'd get it looked at when I got home. 3 days later, it was towed. Apparently my neighbour had called bylaw on it for 3 days straight, so I also had 3 tickets to pay, and an impound fee.

The second he told me he had to drive to the beer store to get more booze one day, I called non-emergency on his assay. They were waiting for him at home, failed his breathalizer, and now he takes the bus. He's been driving drunk for years, and while he doesn't drive half bad, he obviously doesn't know how to mind his own business.
Karma really is a itchbay, Darryl.

Dude to be honest you should have done this a long time ago. I just think what if he killed someone and you did nothing. The fact is a drunk driver is off the road and that is to everyones benefit.

Awesome.  So we can say that he takes no responsibility for his injury for DWI and/or stealing a vehicle?  You know how he could've stayed safe from that trailer hitch?  Not stealing the bike.  If he stayed in his own lane and crashed into the back of a truck, he'd still be toast.

You know who's really at fault?  The bike owner.  He should've taken a taxi to the party and left the bike at home.

^ I would hazard a guess that's where they gave up trying to drive out of the snow bank.

Could be. The snowbanks on this street are pretty gnarly.

I also saw the car parked in the same place about 20 hours before I took this photo... it might still be there now??

I've got about 2 feet on the drivers side to get out, otherwise I'm completely blocked into my driveway.

Wow. Call the city and have that asshat towed.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

What a poor colour and wheel choice. No taste.
I don't name things I know I'm going to sell eventually. Hence why I'd never name any kids I had.

Is it 30 min per spot your car is touching?

Sorry about the super-late reply.  And yes, I think that what those drivers were thinking when they parked the way they did - although for super bonus points, they should've gone for 6 spots (each).  :sarcasm:
Because... hoodscoop.  :P
