Check engine from lightweight flywheel? do you mean the idler pulley? Because last time I checked , the Flywheel cant throw a code.

It causes the engine to rev faster than it "expects" to, as I understand it.
It can cause a crank sensor CEL, or a misfire CEL.

Yes, I've read this exact thing before. Especially if combined with lightweight crank pulley. Either way, this is the reason I decided to get an OEM flywheel.

+1 on this. Heard it from a few people. So with that said, which would be better to have? Anyone here who has had both at different times?

Jellynuts, at least I think it was him, once said a chromoly flywheel is still lighter then stock, but heavy enough to NOT trigger the CEL.

The RPM drops too fast. So, the ECU assumes that a cylinder didn't fire when it was supposed to.

Just delete the code if it pops up, and hope your engine doesn't have a real misfire.

I got a 12lb flywheel and a Perrin crank pulley and no cel.
