Tactrix 2.0 Open Port (Edmonton Area)
« on: September 04, 2015, 08:26:00 am »
Hello All,

I am wondering if anyone in the Edmonton area would have a Taxtrix 2.0 Open Port they might be willing to sell or rent out?
Would like to do some logging so I can send the data off to a tuner for some throttle mapping.
There's not much a guy can do to an N/A engine but this will at least help make it a bit more responsive.
After the logging I would probably need the rent/borrow/buy the unit to reflash my ecu with the new tune.

Anyone out there that can help with this, anyone... Bueller?

AFAIK there are no ECU definitions for the new 2L engine, so I don't believe a tactrix will work.
Let me know if I'm wrong, but I don't see any on the romraider site.

Did your tuner tell you a tactrix would work?

I'm also on NASIOC, (there are a lot more members with my model of car) and have heard many positive reviews of what this tuner has done. Basically need the Tactrix to log a few pulls from 0-60 and a pull in 3rd from 2000rpm to red line. Will have to send the file off to him (tuner) and he will adjust the throttle map to smooth it out and also have a more linear torque throughout the RPM range. Here is the process as he laid it out.
"FYI: For future reference on how easy it is to flash a XV or FB20 Impreza

To save an existing tune

Tactrix plugs in under the drivers side of the dashboard, near the door hinge
Turn ignition to ON position
Plug in the Tactrix to car and computer
Open EcuFlash
Select Vehicle Button: Choose Subaru CAN 2007+
Press OK
Click the 'Read from ECU' button
Then press OK and wait for it to download the tune
Turn ignition off once complete
Turn ignition to the ON position for 15 seconds, then turn ign off for 15 seconds
Restart car and let it idle for 60 seconds before driving
You can now start the car as nothing is changed on the ECU except you now have a backup copy of tune
Save the file, as it will be unrecognised. It will want to save in an SRF format.
Send me that file

To load in a new tune:
First thing: Open the new tune file in EcuFlash
Confirm it opens without any problems
Turn the ignition to the ON Position
Connect the Tactrix to car and laptop
In EcuFlash, you will now be able to select 'Test Write to ECU'
Press OK
It will now go through a 'test flash' which does not actually change anything. This just rules out any chances of error
There will be some YES and NO on the screen, ignore them. We just want the final result to be Test Flash Completed OK etc.
Turn ignition off for 15 seconds, then turn ignition back to ON position
Once this has confirmed OK, you can now select Write to ECU to load in the new ROM file
Same procedure, wait for it to finish loading
Press OK once it has finished
You can now turn the ignition OFF for atleast 15 seconds
Turn the Ignition back to the ON position for atleast 15 seconds which is to do a throttle reset procedure
Now turn the ignition OFF for atleast 15 seconds
Car is now safe to start with the new tune loaded
Let it idle for 60 seconds before driving"

Here is a Dyno of the first 87 octane tune:

Here is another of a 93 octane tune.

I would be looking for a 91 octane tune as 93 is not sold at my favorite gas station.lol.

Anyhow, if anyone is willing to sell/rent me their Tactrix Open Port 2.0 that would be awesome.
