Welp. since its snowing and i cant drive lil red, i finally got my assay around to doing some maintenance ive been putting off, along with test fitting my new team dynamics wheels and installing a new deck. deck isnt done yet so no pics of that. I also cleaned out my photobucket account to below 250 photos so lets see if this works.
Lifted her as high as i could
draining the coolant was reasonably easy other then trying to find the damn drain tube at the back of the engine. the thing is tiny.
Unlike a subaru where coolant is like a 1h job tops, this took me upwards of 5 hours. takes me almost an hour to get all the panels off and get the damn car on jackstands. Then draining the coolant was a miserable pain.
I used a Uview Airlift 2 to fill the coolant as much as i could. Was able to hold 22PSI of vacuum in the car and then fill the coolant that way.
after doing this i realized that it wasnt going to be that easy and i needed access to the bleeders. yes. all uckfaying 3 of them.
First one is located behind 3 panels in the front passenger wheel arch, second is below the upper res, third is part of the upper res.
Ive still got bubbles in the system so its gonna take more dicking around tomorrow to get it all done. I was able to vacuum fill about 7L but it looks like im still probably 500ml low or so.
Also discovered my new to me rear wheels have a different hub bore, so im going to be looking for some hubcentric rings for the rears and some centercaps or something
Looks alright on the new wheels.
upgrade from a 175 tire to a 205 up front and from a 225 to a 235 in the rear. Apparently i cant get up to a 245 in the rear without issues so for now, itll be 235.
