Issue is finding a set of high performance tires that offer both sizes. The rears are easy to source, but none other than those listed by Jeff also come in the 175/55/16 size.

The LSS pack runs 195/50/16 fronts but those are on 16x6.5 wheels rather than the non LSS wheels that are on the car which are 16x5.5.

You can maybe get a custom set of wheels forged that will have the correct hub and offset, but it's probably best in the short term to go with the AD07 since the A048 are a 60 treadwear tire

So weird. At least they'll be cheap.

I'd rather use the winter to try to source some wider wheels and tires!

The wheels dont have studs.  They are bolted on with special torex keys.  And its a 4 bolt hub.  Finding other wheels wouldnt be easy, especially because id need 16x6.5 and 17xwhatever

That sounds like quitter talk. Tirerack has a set of fronts :P. They're even on sale!

If TR had them I bet you could find a few other niche manufacturers.

BMWs have wheel bolts too, I bet you can do a stud conversion if you wanted.

I dont want different wheels.  I like the OEM ones.  And the the 180 treadwear Advans are very sticky.  Apparently you can get away with 888's on the street too.  but im not gonna bother.  Gonna leave the Lotus chassis setup alone.  I think they knew what they were doing :P

That's fine, as long as you can still get the AD07s. They are a good tire, if a little dated.

I'm just saying that these things don't seem as impossible to change as you were making it out to be. The car is 4x100 after all.

The Elise has a Toyota engine (2ZZ - Celica GTS)
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

strangely...  its way WAY more comfortable then a GD sti.  The seats have almost no padding but they never hurt me.  did edmonton to calgary in one hit and my back was actually better when i got to calgary then when i left.  and the ride isnt bad either.

hard to believe but it isnt

Sounds like a road trip to BC next year! Your climbing gear can take the second seat ;)

-Wireless backup camera with plate frame mount - ordered

Nice car though.. how's the road noise?  Can the stereo be cranked to drown it out?
