BTW. If you email Subispeed they will ship USPS.

+1 on this. I had one of my SubiSpeed orders shipped with USPS. Took about a week and a half, but no duties, brokerage or anything.

Damn! I'll have to keep that in mind next time... Hah, here I was thinking I actually received some decent service from UPS with them delivering a lot faster than expected!

October 20, 2015 - 1000km Milestone  I literally love this car more every time I drive it...

Untitled by kijho66, on Flickr

Noob question time:  Can anybody help me understand the 8.4 and the 9.1 numbers? What do they represent in terms of fuel mileage? Is that L/100km or 1/100km? Why is there two numbers?

8.4L/100km is trip A on your odometer, so from the last time you reset trip A that is what the car thinks the fuel economy has averaged.  I think 9.1L/100km is the lifetime average from what I see there.

The 9.1 L/100km could be the lifetime fuel economy or it could be the average fuel economy for the time your car is on.

So if you drive 20 minutes to work that 9.1 L/100km will be the average fuel economy for that 20 minute trip. As soon as you turn the vehicle off it will reset for the next trip.

8.4 is trip A, 9.1 is your current econ, like since you last turned the car on. If you idle for a minute or two, it'll shoot up to 99.9 l/100km. You can change it show your lifetime, trip A, or current econ.

Since I already have Trip A at the top there as well, I like to designate that third spot on the display with distance driven in km (from when the car was last started). To me, I didn't want to have 2 "fuel economy" slots in there.

Oh awesome, I'll probably end up changing it to that then as well.. I like the Avg one per trip at the top the most. I don't care much about per driving session .. It'll go up/down and be all over the place based on driving / idling haha.

Dropped my car off this morning for a little audio installation :D Excited to see how it sounds when I get it back. Keeping the OEM stereo and having them do some sort of custom wiring in the back to splice in with some type of module. :D Kanji might take some install pics I hope!

I am sure you can configure it to have it, even the Crosstrek has it.

You can put a "km remaining on tank" in the top centre. Like thus:

No, I don't believe the STI has a provision to have an oil temp gauge configuration.

The issue with that is that you can't put Trip A fuel consumption in the triple display below. Not sure why they made it so you can't. That would be my ideal setup.

WTF.  The most performance oriented model and it doesn't have the most critical oil temp layout, but a uckfaying Crosstrek does?

I think it's due to the engine. The EJ doesn't have the sensor, the FA does. A little weird, I read it on NASIOC I believe.

Sad days. Your cluster has some additional information for a center differential though. ;D

You can put your speed or the time duration of your trip there.

But beneath those is so much blank space. The WRX doesn't seem to have any utilization of it?

The eyesight models have this fancy looking thing..

That's where the car's soul lives.

Also, you goddamn kids these days and your information overload. Not every spot on the cluster needs to display something.

I see potential for motivational quotes scrolling across that screen there, maybe an updated drink specials list for nearby bars, maybe a news/stock ticker scrolling there...

Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.
