06 impreza wagon
« on: October 24, 2015, 06:13:47 pm »
I am am going to be pulling the engine on my 06 impreza wagon in the next little bit and have been thinking about little modifications that I could do to the car. I'm thinking of putting a cold air intake, headers and maybe upgraded clutch.

What would be a good air intake to go with?
Also for exhaust I'm not sure what would sound good for it, any ideas?

Welcome to the club. Audio section is more about speakers and amps... But the best thing you can do is hit up a meet and listen to other people's rides.

No intake is any better than the other but you may need a tune. Catbacks don't need to be tuned for but they do have their differences in tone, volume, and drone.

If this is an impreza as you've stated, and not a turbo, there is nothing you can do to increase power by a substantial or even noticeable amount.
If you want to do intake and headers for the noise? Go for it.
Just don't go expecting 50hp from them.

Your headers are equal length. If you want to go unequal, you may have a hard time finding UEL NA headers.

Why the upgraded clutch?
Any increase shock your transmission will see because of that will be transmitted down the entire drivetrain.

I definitely made a post in the wrong page hahaha Ops..

Side note my audio for the car may be getting a little make over. My car came with a doubled in deck but seems to be factory speakers. So I was thinking of putting in some kenwood door speakers and I have 2 punch subs sitting in my garage. They might just work their way in to the car after I get the Windows tinted.

I'm not looking to gain to much for power for the car because I have much bigger plans for my other car I am planning on building. Just thinking of a slightly better clutch cause I find the oem is a little to soft and light for my liking.

Speakers are pretty easy to do. You may need speaker spacers though to clear the window
