I try to make everything as Kosher as I can :P worst case scenario I'll just tap into a +12 and wire it to another switch somewhere

Just zip tie an air horn to the cage.

Just zip tie an air horn to the cage.

Just run a relay, horns, and momentary pushbutton on the middle of the dash.  Let the co-driver do the honkin.

The only things co-drivers are good at is misreading course notes and making embarrassing noises from the ballast side of the car.

[If any future or past co-drivers of mine read this, note that the above statement does not apply to you and you are awesome and please don't let me die out there]

Wired up the horn to a toggle switch in the panel, better than nothing. Didn't have a push button momentary lying around. Yeeehaw

Should've left some bare wires in the cockpit that you touch together.

Using a knife switch is far more stylish

Leave the switch in the on position for a whole stage.
You could easily claim it was an accident.

So a bit of a quick followup here after the event.

We did really well! In the morning, we started the first two stages on the wrong tire pressures (35 PSI in rally tires, felt like I was driving on hockey pucks). I still managed to get within 6 seconds of the leader on the first stage, and a 4th place time on stage 2, faster than the current champion. Lowered tire pressures, then on stage 3 put down a 3rd place time, faster than a Rocket Rally-built car and very close to the pace of the top times. Not bad for a little 2.5 N/A!

After seeing those results, I just wanted to finish the rally, so we put on the studded tires to have more grip in braking zones and mid-corner. Our times suffered a bit, but we still managed to secure a 7th place overall finish, and a 2nd place in class, production 4wd, behind an Evo8.

I'll be editing and uploading videos soon, will post those and more pics shortly!

Congrats! Does 2nd in class count as a podium finish?

Can't wait until more pictures come in!

Until then, take a gander at Stage 3, Bullet. 3rd place time on this stage with lots of room to go faster!

There was so much snow, it was snowing ALL WEEKEND, which lead to some issues at the service park and a bunch of cars getting stuck. They got a plow in there while the cars were out on the first set of stages and it cleared up, but we had to scrub some stages due to the snow. Doesn't matter; had sex.

So that's why rally drivers don't wear full face helmets.

Drivers need some sort of... comfort... if their car careens off the track on a stage
