Injector help with number of holes
« on: December 13, 2015, 10:49:46 am »
I bought a set of rebuilt injectors for the wives Forester and went out to change them last night but ran into an issue. The injectors I received have 4 holes while the ones I pulled out have 12. I spent hours searching and all I could come up with is that the spray patterns are slightly different, but I can't seem to find out if they will create and issue or not. I'm replacing the injectors trying to fix cel P0303(cylinder 3 misfire)
Injectors are yellow top side feeds for a 2004 Forester xt

Have any of you dealt with this before?

Thanx, Jason

Just received a reply from the seller stating that both injectors flow the same amount of fuel and they will work perfectly in my car. He also mentioned that the 4 hole orifice is less likely to get clogged then the 12.

I'm going to guess that the 12 hole injector is going to spray a finer mist, resulting in a greater surface area of the fuel droplets and thus more efficient combustion.

I agree with you. I'm hoping that my fuel economy doesn't plummet with these new injectors.
