2016 3.6 Outback Hard-starting
« on: December 29, 2015, 12:40:20 pm »
Got our new outback, only has 5000 km on it now. last couple days it will not start unless I floor the gas pedal while cranking (which I shouldn't have too do in a EFI). Battery isn't low. I am thinking this is a fuel problem? I topped it off with some mid-grade Petro Can, but it didn't help. Fuel pump or injector issues?

The ECU basically turns off the injectors with the pedal to the floor. I'd think it is flooding out for some reason during the initial crank - the ECU doesn't actually calculate the amount of fuel based on air, is just a set amount.

If it's consistent, I'd take it in. Could be as easy as new ECU software.
