Well, just an update. Took the car on a road trip down to Las Vegas. 7 days total, including two that were only driving, approximately 4500 km. Car didn't skip a beat, or burn a drop of oil, which is impressive (especially given that temps were exceeding 45
o Celsius most days.
From the mountains of Montana to the deserts of Arizona. Even managed to drive on the Las Vegas strip at night and during the day.
As an update to the below post regarding the ECM tune reprogramming that was done for the recall, I had read somewhere that the car will not make the same peak boost that it made on the original tune. I'd hit 22.5 PSI previously, and before the trip, my max recorded boost was 19.8 or something. Managed to hit 22.8 somewhere down there, which is higher than what I had before, so I'm not sure where those people got their info. Don't have a pic yet, but I'll post one up at some point.
Just picked the car up from getting it's recall check up and ECM reprogramming done. Results were great, leak down was 2% across all cylinders (dat hard break in) and there were no thrown codes stored in the memory. New tune feels about the same to be honest. Haven't really had a chance to get into it much though, it's traffic time right now. Will update as/if I notice any real differences from the original tune.
Sadly, my peak boost/high score of 22.5 PSI was erased due to the reprogramming. I managed to hit 17.7 while getting up to speed on the highway. Must set new high score.
Give me all the PSI's!!
