When did Timmie's become the new Barlow meet?

Sad I missed it. I'll bring my dB meter for the next one!

Bro, do a burnout.

Got around to installing Kartboy front and rear shifter bushings to see what kind of difference they would make. The shifter does wobble very slightly in the neutral position - but I think it's due to the age of the plastic cup. When I take it and give it the slightest wiggle, the compliance seems to come from there.

Anyway, my impression of the shift feel...the notchy feeling is still there, but it's like a linear notchy feeling. It's most noticeable from third to fourth - it just notches in a straight line. Before the bushing install, it would notch..but in a kinda vague wiggly way. It's veryyy subtle though.

Here's a useless video. The bushings look pretty good still for their age. Maybe I'll buy a short throw some day. And figure out what kinda extension length.

You have old man hands.

And ya, describing the feel of shifter bushings is exactly the same as describing the material of the shifter bushings.

Stock feels rubbery when you put pressure on the shifter, hard urethane bushings feel stiffer. Sharp might be the adjective to use?

If you haven't already, check out the extension in Canuckrz's Forester.  It has one bend to it and is quite nice!

Yes...sharp. Here's a MS paint representation of how it feels. There's less of side to side "yield" feeling when pushing through gear > neutral > gear. It's subtle because the throws aren't overly long to begin...but after a few hours with it, I like it.

Re: diamondedge's 2007 WRX - "happy birthday kate"

So our 1 year of ownership anniversary (birthday?! anniversary? milestone? whatever) came and went a couple of weeks ago. Each and every time I get into her, she still puts a smile on my face.

She burns a little of oil, but that's okay.
She needs a clay and polish, and some rust treatment, but that's okay.
She's not as powerful as the newer ones, nor as fuel efficient, but that's okay.

I bought her a few presents - a cabin air filter, an engine air filter, a Killer B oil pickup, and a nice emoji plush that hangs in the D pillar window.

I got her with 130,173 km. I think on her actual 1 year day I was around 19,800 km driven. This is the most I've driven any car in my entire life. But that's okay.

The moment she crossed 150,000 km - we were just leaving Golden on our way through the continental divide. How appropriate.

I also got her something else I couldn't pass up when they came up for sale, to be revealed later  ^-^

NuTypeR and Jellynuts have convinced me that coilovers are next. Come Spring... (haha)

I'll go +35 if you go +35 with me Dan. Let's do it. Roll and pull our fenders into oblivion. Camber-gang.

Seriously, is this not hot?

It is hot. But driving with that over the Continental Divide would not have been fun.

A healthy drop will still significantly improves the aesthetics of the car, regardless of the wheels.

Unless the wheels are 20" chrome spinners.

Heh thanks Kijho. A healthy drop and a set of "real wheels" is definitely in the cards. Heart of the cards...

This particular wagon on NASIOC...hngh. Enkei's TS10 and TS9 have that kinda concave-ish style for a higher offset wheel, even though they're not truly concave...

The single tip looks pretty stealthy. From my research, this particular hawkeye is on 17x8 +45 on Advan AD08r's in 225/45/17. Which looks pretty meaty for a 225.

THREE LETTERS

 ;D ;D ;D

For those who came to the Peter's meet tonight, you got to see them. For those that didn't, (and before kijho posts his snaps from tonight teehee) BOOYAKASHA

How's that for period correct, Canuckrz?

I bought the 17 x 7 BBS wheels that were optioned for 2002-2004 WRX's. Hubcentric and even stamped with STi. At first I wasn't sure on the silver, but they've totally grown on me. The tires are some random European/Japanese market Yokohama's. BluEarth-A AE50. They're pretty worn so they'll take me to winter then sticky rubber comes next season. Does this make me a Subaru basic itchbay? WRB Subaru with BBS's? Guess so.  ^-^
