After developing holes, Im in the anti-wrap camp. Mine is always just soggy all winter long, holding salt and water right up against the metal for months and months.
My stock headers are almost completely falling apart.

I thought it was a courtesy and health thing to wrap it up. Maybe I am getting old and time has changed.

Mind you, I'm not sure if this car will see another winter?  That said, I'm also in the no wrap camp.

Because lazy.

Come on now, I don't think its going to blow up that quickly.

Also +1 for no wrap. You're already removing a cat from the engine bay.

I wrapped my down pipe, then I started reading everywhere about how it holds moisture, can be a place that oil sits and then eventually catches on fire... etc. So I removed everything then had it ceramic coated.

The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

I have a Masters Degree in Bro Science. Also, I just thought well instead of worrying about it I would rather just do it a way that I am comfortable with the first time.

Exhaust gets hot. Moisture will go away fast. Salt is plausible.

I wrapped all my stuff ages ago. No holes yet. But my stuff came stained and gross.

My old downpipe crack and it was wrapped sooooo....

The other side that is important to note is that the wrapped tubing will be hotter, and stay hotter than unwrapped.  Welds don't like wrapped.

In the other note, that down pipe is inches away from the passengers feet and get hot as uckfay. Make sure your ac works good

I should also install that Cobb heat shield too while I'm in there.

Done. I had to coax it in there. Didn't have to remove the IC! An interesting tidbit, the one from the Fozzy with the older Cobb logo, is smaller than this new one. Had to tweak the
corners just for some peace of mind/clearance. Looks a little mangled lol. Let's fight off that heatsoak!

Curious if you have any issues with rattling etc?

I just finally installed one on my Forester that I had laying around. It's annoying as hell, rattles upon initial excel. It's strange because I have a Cusco one on my STi'd WRX wagon and it makes zero noise. Both running VF turbo's and both running Invidia DP's.

I came to mention. Yes. It rattles!! It didn't at first but I think after a dozen or so heat cycles it appeared around 2500rpm. Its a buzzing rattle, not a slow taptaptap style.

I'll tighten it eventually. Just been lazy and driving the Fozzy lol.

Same story as Racheal, sorry it took so long.  And I only got one pass.  But boy oh boy, you car makes me wish I had a wagon.  In WRB.  Her car makes me wish I had a Foz.  In WRB.

2020.

What a year it's been. I hope everyone is staying safe, staying connected, staying positive. If one thing this whole pandemic has shown me, is that we still have some compassionate
souls out in this world. Anyways... a taste of what's in store..

I forgot to post, but I installed some Techna Fit / Mach V braided brake lines last year. Thanks Hawkeye STI for the hook up and RedNWhite for WSC courier.

As she sat, art courtesy of 05LGT and lakelouisebugeye02 back in February:

Things on the go for now:

- Install this JDM-mad-tyte bling Cusco MC brace. Thanks Roadwarrior for hooking me up!
- Find a used V3 Accessport. Open tune is possible, I have a Tactrix, but I will save that for the Forester and experiment with it there. I also don't have a working laptop.
- Powdercoat/Ceramic coat the downpipe for the WRX. Targeting this for end of May. I might choose a bling colour. Because why not. Or maybe black.
- New tires are on the way, I went with AD08R this time. They'll fit a little meatier and are harder than the RE71R, and I'm aware they're not as fast. I will focus again on bad habits, seat time seat time seat time seat time. I loved the RE71R...why melt them with my bad habits on my camber challenged car? yenno?
- New brake pads and rotors
- Cross off a wish list item that I've wanted 4 years ago.
- New brake pads and rotors

However, I found a set of 2007 2006 edit oh uckfay they're 2006 LOL WHATEVER only die-hards know the difference STi headlights for a good deal on Kijiji. Like, yikes. Seller was super prompt and shipped them down to me. A harness is on the way, as are new bulbs from Prolightz. Thanks kijho for your discount code ;)

A nice cleaning, sand, polish and booy oh boy am I excited to see how they look. The projector install Canuckrz did on the Foz still makes me smile when I drive at night. So if these can get 75% as good as them, big grins. I think that's it. Maybe finally getting around to paint correct. Gosh darn the swirls. This summer marks 5 years of ownership.

Thanks guys!! It's Wednesday so that means WAGON CONTENT.

Spec-R once again for tires. Thank you Ed & Cole for wonderful service, as usual.

After getting an alignment, the AD08R certainly fits more meaty. Had SpecR throw my spare 3mm spacers on the front to really flush it out. I could probably do a 235/40/17 but I like the taller sidewall, oddly enough. lol.

Shout out to Shadow Tinting for the quick turnaround on the film. Nice and close to home too.

Prolightz didn't give a me a sticker but Lightwerkz did, lol.

Oh baby, those headlights turned out great dude. Wheels look meaty and love how flush they fit. Is the downpipe still on track to be coated and ready by the end of the month? Any luck on a V3 AP? When will this thing be ready to test the reliability of an EJ?
