Then you've never sat in rush hour consistently for two decades.

It's not the shifting that bothers me. It's riding the clutch at 2km/h to edge forward 4ft. And then repeating in 3 seconds. With an aftermarket clutch in your subaru. I have to admit, it's much easier in my s2000, but still not something I enjoy.

Yep. Shifting is fine, its the clutch. I too hate just thinking "I've put more wear on this clutch in 5kms then I'd do in 1000kms of any other driving"

Back in 2010 I lived and worked in Calgary for a bit. My life was f*&king hell, had my massive cam Swift GTi and a stiff clutch that didn't really like idling, commuting anywhere from 45min to 1.5 hours in Calgary rush hour. FML! That was the first and only time I ever wanted an automatic.

I will cut you a good deal on the Town Car.

I have the GTI for that.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Can the GTI hold six people in the cabin and another four in the trunk?

Still have the car. I think it's doubtful I'll sell it with winter around the corner. I imagine most buyers won't be looking until next spring.

So in the mean time I'm gonna get it detailed in preparation for winter. With my new job, I'm less motivated to sell it anyways.

Where you planning on getting it detailed? Any idea what happened to MBWorld?

Well I got the car detailed by 10secdream. He did a fantastic job; the car looks better than it did new.

If I keep the car, I'd like to get it polished next year so it can be ceramic coated.

Unless you have an infrared heat lamp, polishing AMG cars are almost impossible because of their ceramic clear coat. Unless there is a way to do it without heat but it's how I was shown a few years back.

From my experience you need to experiment with the right compound and pad to work with the ceramic clear-coat. I am also not sure if this specific paint code has the ceramic clear on it either.

Wait, ceramic clear coat? I had no idea. Wife just got a CLA and I was planning to put some CQuartz on it before winter really rolls in.

Still a good idea. I mean in theory the ceramic clearcoat is great and it definitely helps with swirls and scratching but when you need to actually fix these issues it can be a bit of a nightmare.

AFAIK all AMG and M cars use ceramic clear coat. Had a good long argument with my old boss few months ago when he asked me to polish a 2006 M coupe. After a full day of polishing it looked like I did barely anything.
