World Cup DH Racing
« on: April 10, 2016, 09:33:40 am »
Lourdes is today, catch it live on RedBull TV.

I'll be cheering for Gwin, Bryceland, and though unlikely, Peaty. Practice and qualifying was pretty wild so the racing should be exciting.

There's been a lot of activity in the off-season this year, should make for a good season of racing. The Atherton's moved to Trek, Gwin is with YT for their maiden season, Bruni moved to Specialized, just to name a few. Who are you cheering for? Any predictions? What are you most excited for?

I didn't catch it but I get the highlights on my FB feed.

Those are my three favourites too. Ratboy has come a long way over the past couple of years and has become really good at what he does.

You can watch the full stream on the RedBull TV app or website, that's my plan for tonight!

Anyone watch Cairns yet? Without any spoilers, it was a nail biter to the end!

I have no idea on the men's side. My hopes go to Ratboy, but for bill could go to anyone.
On the women's side, Atherton. No other woman is in the same league if she's healthy.  She's the Phelps of women's DH.

Well my picks were totally off the mark. Didn't expect things to finish out the way they did!

Minnaar is such a boss,  33 years old and 3 seconds faster than the rest of the pack.

as expected, Rachel won by an enormous amount. her skill level is so far above the other ladies that I've lost excitement in watching them race.
Minnaar is a beast. I didn't think he was at 100%, but I was dead wrong. makes things very interesting in the race for the overall...

It's race day! MSA is looking beastly and the racing looks like it's going to be tight.

Here's my PB fantasy picks (though it looks like Seagrave and Nicole may not even start now…)

1. Gwin
2. Brosnan
3. Hart

1. Seagrave
2. Atherton
3. Nicole

Guess who I was on a chair with at Whistler today?  Danny Hart...  I just said hi and kept my mouth shut as him and his buddy who I assume was also a pro downhiller chatted about racing.

I changed the title of this thread to be just a general UCI World Cup DH thread.

2017 is soon upon us! It's been a long winter, can't wait to watch some racing!
