Wedding in Calgary
« on: June 07, 2016, 09:59:21 AM »
I am looking for a nice hotel that is close to the Calgary Zoo. A friend of mine is getting married there this summer so I would like to stay as close as possible so I don't have to take long/expensive cab rides over and over again.

Thanks guys. I go to Calgary quite often but I am still very unfamiliar with the city.

Any place downtown. You can take the lrt right to the zoo.

Awesome, thanks! The suite I was looking at is downtown so that works out well.

How long are you staying?

AirBnB may be a better option for you since there aren't really any super nice hotels close to the zoo. You'll probably be able to find something nice on the SE edge of Bridgeland.

For example. I don't have dates, so I just picked mid July for a week, and this was available. That is the general location you'll want to look for. One of the most sought after neighborhoods in Calgary.

Has anyone ever stayed or has anything to say about the O Hotel Suites? They look to be pretty modern and clean which is my style, looks like one of them might be a good choice.

Care to elaborate?

Their website isn't the best (doesn't show any photos besides the small cover photo) but when I called them they seemed pretty helpful.

I've stayed at Hotel Elan, its just off 17th ave (similar feel to whyte). And a quick walk to the lrt. And it was pretty nice. Expedia had it like half off when I booked.

Has a private underground car park too.

Haha I don't think I would like heated toilet seats, would make it feel like some other person was just on it and heated it up lol.

Hah! You say that, but when you experience toilet seats the way Toto and the rest of Japan envisioned them, you will know butt-bliss.
