Very nice splitter. The previous owner did a hack job on the oem splitter to make it for the sti scoop and tmic and it doesn't seal worth a damn on mine. I've been meaning to fab up a new skirt for it so it mates up properly or just buy one of the Subtle splitters but it's been on the back burner forever.

It's been ages since an update! Here's the latest:

3 March 2017 - Tuning day!

Sunny (Airboy) did my full tune on the EFR 6758, with and without water-methanol. We gained around 30 whp with meth, up to 376 whp / 420 wtq!
We did some testing of meth injection points with different size injectors, temperatures monitored via thermocouples.

Still need to grab my final dyno plot from Sunny, but here are some pics & vid:

Setup on the dyno:

Temporary water-meth and sensors:

Not the final run, but you can see the WHP getting closer!

16 April 2017 - First Autocross event

Season opener / practice for SASC autocross was a couple weekends ago. We had a huge scramble to get some tires, when my Nitto NT05s were delayed (annnnd I didn't order in good time, ahem). Ended up borrowing a mint setup: 17x9" +35 Wedsports TC105Ns on 255/45R17 NT01s - couldn't ask for better than the lightest Weds championship-winning wheels! If only I were skilled enough to put them to good use ;)

Here we added a 24 mm SuperPro rear swaybar, and dialed in the KWs and adjustable lateral links. Alignment time is down to only 3 hours! :D

We also had to modify the swaybar mounting brackets, as the stock FXT ones were too wide to fit the bushing.
(a) Superpro bushing (b) modified narrower bracket (c) original bracket, with my nice paint job

Setup sitting pretty perfect:

I didn't really think my car was super loud, except on cold starts in the confined space of the garage, but apparently it is! Ryan had the Accessport set for launch controlled starts, which disqualified us by about 3 decibels.. I've got a resonator that can be welded in, eventually, but until then we won't be racing again! Not going to be the reason SASC loses a prime location!

Somewhere I had more pics... oh well!

Check out Matt's (sheridan02wrx) vid (Ryan driving, not me, heh):

29-30 April 2017 - Driven Prep

I have a few cosmetic things to fix up before the Foz goes to Driven next weekend. I hadn't polished the car, since I was (am) planning to have it fully repainted in the near future - but not before the show! Dug out the Flex polisher, compound, and glaze, and went to town!

The new foam cannon soap is super fun:

Since I couldn't lift my arms to take photos, here are the final shots only :P  I also bought some LaminX tail light overlay material, which was definitely "moderate" to "hard" level application (for me, anyways).
Pretty happy with how it turned out - it's different from the dark housing Sports tail lights ($300+ for OEM replacement quality) and gets rid of all that chrome:

Before:                                                                                                                                                         During?

After:

This is my little side project - Nexus 7 headunit in the JDM Forester double DIN nav pod.
I bought a used 2013 wifi-only 16gb tablet from Kijiji. It turned out to only charge wirelessly, which I thought was odd, until I tried to sideload Timur's kernel and couldn't connect at all. Grr. I bought a new daughter board and performed rocket surgery, and it's up and running again! I'm pretty impressed with myself - it's not something I've done or thought I could manage. But gotta save dollars on my unnecessary I.C.E. (ICE BABY)!

(a) Original clock pod  (b) removed  (c) JDM double DIN pod

... apparently you've gotta keep the clock wired up inside, so the car isn't in limp mode..
I've got my brackets mocked up in cardboard, so I just need to cut & bend some sheet metal (likely with major assistance... and do-overs). I've ordered the stuff to hardwire the power source, but I'm going to run out of time!

Finally, I put on my FSTi lip! I even removed the plastic sticker protecting the STI emblem...

And, we put on test fit the ZE40s! Ok, so at 18x9.5" +43 offset, they definitely require a spacer (8mm) for the rear. Which means I need extended studs at the rear as well (I guess it's an excuse to upgrade and match the front ARP studs!). The fenders self-clearanced a bit with the borrowed TC105's, so we'll definitely be rolling for these before the car gets painted.

Yeah a little, but you don't get a lot of acoustics R&D with a one off custom exhaust :P The resonator should help!

Wow, I'd love to know what 420 ft lbs feels like

Come for a rip any time! It's like a punch to the gut. So scare.

Wow the car looks so good. It looked great running around at the first Auto X practice too.

I don't name things I know I'm going to sell eventually. Hence why I'd never name any kids I had.

A couple in-car vids too:
For my first drag event, I'm pretty sure I didn't beat anyone all day :P There were some FAST cars in attendance!
I gradually learned/remembered to keep my foot in it for the WHOLE half mile, and dialed in launch control - both me and the accessport..

If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

lol ok, so it really HAS been a while since I updated this!

2018:
I dropped the Foz off for complete show-car-quality paint and body work with Prah Paint Works after road tripping it to Kelowna over May Long weekend 2018. Nick did an amazing job, it was a lot rougher than it looks in photos and he brought it back better than factory ever saw. This past fall/winter has been all about the exterior - getting rid of the terrible orange peel, dents, scuffs, properly rolling and painting the fenders, and fitting some JDM aero pieces I had ordered:

- Cross Sports rear bumper with optional lip skirt
- SYMS spoiler replica
- Forester STi waist spoiler
- Zenki Cross Sports side skirts

In progress.....

While it was in for paint, I had Okotoks Tinting redo the ugly old school purple tint it had on the rear windows and hatch. The new tint colour is perfect! I did get front windows done, because I like to live on the edge #badass

We took a (long) day to ceramic coat it after the paint was cured, it was fully polished, and the spoiler fitted to the hatch. I used the Gyeon Q2 Syncro kit, which requires 2 coats of MOHS, followed by a coat of SKIN... all with 4-6 hours cure time each! It was really worth it on my Macan. Although the Forester isn't going to see winter anymore, I still might get caught in a light rain shower :p

IMG_6437.jpg by Rachel McLean, on Flickr

Some of you might've seen it at World of Wheels this year, its first outing after completion. It stayed flawless in February by trailering down to the show. I was so nervous having it in a crowd  ;D

I recently found a great deal on some used JDM Sports SG9 headlights, with HIDs, the dark housings, and clear side markers. They've been on the list for a looong time, and I love how they'll change the look of the entire front end! A tab was broken in shipping, so we're going to epoxy and install this coming weekend to be ready for Driven!

Heh it's dirty as anything under the hood :p All I'm planning for this year as far as power mods is to tune on E85 - Cobb just released support for the SG foresters in Feb/Mar! Already have the proper fuel pump, injectors, teflon fuel lines, ready to go. Now we have that one gas station that carries it at the pump too!

This build just continues to get more and more perfect! What a stunning Forester!

I'm absolutely loving the SYMS spoiler and the extra cross sports goodies. I've been eyeing up both that rear bumper to compliment my sports front end and the SYMS spoiler as I don't have anything at the moment and it's far superior to the stock spoiler anyway. So much more aggressive and stylish.
