Comox Valley/Vancouver Island

I'll put all my pics from my various threads, and update with new pics here over time.

Mount Washington     https://www.mountwashington.ca

Kye Bay is just around the corner from us, or about a 1/2 paddle, and it's a pretty nice beach.  Tide goes out for 2-3 kilometres and you can walk out on the sand and look at all the poor beast stranded until the tide comes back.

jellyfish stranded at low tide:

I haven't tried the paddle board, my wife loves it but I've kayaked all over, the ocean is a different beast than lake paddling and I've been dumped for the first time ever by the waves. Pic of our kayaks and her paddle board.  I have a 14' but it seems a bit wobbly on the ocean so I might look for something better designed for the ocean.

I really like this little motorhome, it's a Toyota:

Just finished a 3 day storm here last weekend, we never lost power but had to boil our water for 5 days.  Now that we are into our fall/winter it is definitely grey here and raining most days, however it's still 12 above during the day and 9-10 at night so it's nice from what I'm used to.

Taken today, looks like they are replacing this ferry by the end of the year, Queen of Burnaby is over 50 years old:

Here it is last night at 10:00 pm:

Shot of the road out from our place:

Singing Sands taken tonight which is right beside our place, lots of people come here to fish for salmon:

uckfay, I wish with that god damned dump of snow, hahah, was in a rental car.

Funny though, I never spot anyone from WSC in Calgary, but one day of being back home and I spot your Fozzy.

haha that dump of snow was hilarious, I got stuck right outside of our carport with my golf, ditched it there and took my forester.  Now there is no snow left except where it's been piled up and I've been driving the forester because I missed it. If you are still around and have some time for a coffee , let me know.

Already back in Calgary, it was just a quick 5 night jaunt to visit my folks for my daughters birthday. I'm usually out there a couple of times a year though. Bringing the 4runner and Airstream next time.

We went to Royston beach today, the tide was way out and we got lots of sea glass and shells.

Also, the Snowbirds and 3 CF18's are training here before they head out on their tours shortly.  It is spectacular to here them fly by our place, and to see the snowbirds in formation.  I have an ongoing problem with our Pentax P90.  I've sent it back twice now to the factory for repair, and we are STILL having issues, you can see a hair or something on the left hand side and I'm tired of: paying postage and not having it for 2 months at a time.  I will never buy another Pentax dSLR again.  Pics of the Snowbirds/CF18's:

New Ferry has arrived, it's called Salish Orca.  It can run on natural gas and diesel, it can load from both ends, and can also sail in much more inclement weather:
