It doesn't even have the ability to play actual SNES cartridges... people will buy absolutely anything these days.

But it has:

Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
EarthBound
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO
Kirby Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out!!
Yoshi’s Island

What more would you actually want to play on an SNES? Other than Earthworm Jim...

I have plenty of games not on that list. I've got the original consoles so it's fine for me... I just don't understand why people settle for something missing such an integral part of the system. Backwards compatibility seems like it'd be a no-brainer.

Because that's what Nintendo is selling. You get this, or nothing. Or you go spend hundreds buying an original system from someone who's selling one. And then spend the money on games. And hope it all works after 25 years of probably hard use at the hands of an 8 year old.

People aren't settling if there isn't really an option.

I'm still mad at Nintendo for discontinuing the NES Classic when it was still in such huge demand. We already have an SNES so won't be picking this new one up.

I wanted an NES classic to collect it. Same with SNES classic.

I already have a retropie that has all these games plus more.

Hopefully I can score an SNES too.  Had to line up outside Best Buy at 8am last time, it shouldn't be too bad.

Not gonna lie, I kinda wanna be one of those sholeasays who buy it and flip it. If it doesn't sell, I can play Mario Kart!

I was lucky and got an NES classic in march. I'll try and get one of these too. I recently sold all of my NES/SNES/N64... genesys TG16 dreamcast and 3do stuff too. Needed the cash for other hobbies.

Well SNES pre-sales sold out in like 30 seconds and then Best Buy and EB Games websites both crashed...

Now to wait for Amazon and maybe a second round from Best Buy..

I got my pre-order in at BB. I tried to get second one at EB, as a backup/sell to a friend at retail cost, but the site crashed after I put my CC info in.

Seriously, uckfay Nintendo.

I will never support them after these shenanigans. Sure am happy it's easy AF to pirate the games from my childhood and that I still own a NES and a SNES.

Had no idea pre-orders opened today. Can't say I'm surprised. Kijiji will be flooded with these things I'm sure.

I wandered over to the London Drugs near my house because I was out of coffee around 10. They sold out this morning before I got there so I didn't get one. They also didn't have my coffee, so really just adding insult to injury.

That's all the driving I'm willing to do on this one until the second shipment shows up.

Had an on-site inspection this morning I couldn't miss, meaning I couldn't get out to pick one up.

My roommate took the day off and got 4 on top of the 6 he already scored online (including one European version).... and has already sold two for $220 each...

I'll wait for the next shipment.
