Will it drift?
It'll slide, but I don't really know how to make an automatic transmission drift. If you drop it in first it will do little low-speed slides.

My suggestion is to drop it in first, and give it a (big) scandinavian flick, with some left-foot braking in there for good measure ;)

Oh yeah, it will definitely do that. I've done donuts in a gravel pit with it on the rally.

The fender really rubs the tire when you do.

The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Looks like the chunk of jagged metal that I broke free from the front right fender has actually worn into the tire as of this evening. There's a big egg on one of my Grabbers :(

Who wants to give me $600 for this thing with the original tires on it?

I might be interested in this! What are the chances this thing would make it all winter [highway] driving 100kms a day 3 or 4 days a week without breaking down? Does it start in -30 weather ahah?

It's got a new battery, and it has started in -30 before without being plugged in or boosted. The previous owner used it as a daily driver and lived out of the city, but not sure how much he was driving it every day before it got parked.

You definitely need new tires on this thing if you want to snow drive it. Half the reason the Grabbers are on it is because it wouldn't move in half an inch of snow with the bald Regalias.

I'd say if you throw a bit of front end work at this thing and know how to drive a barge in the snow this would be an excellent winter car. It even has heated mirrors.

Turns out we had some spare front wheels and tires lying around due to another moribund American car, and some dark presence is smiling upon this vehicle because they fit like they were made for it.

What did we do about the rubbing, you ask? Well, we rolled the fender. But we didn't use a fender roller... because those cost money.

You did it the hard way?

I swore I'd never do this:

But I was running out of time. I actually removed the wheels and used a heat gun. I'll go back over them later with a proper fender roller and paint over the cracks (and surprise rust) with POR15.

The hard way's the only way I know how, baby.

Also, we used a baseball bat but the baseball bat broke.

So I've been driving this thing, and it's good to drive.

299,400 km.  :o

17.5L/100km.  :o :o

I might have a bit of a lead foot.

It me.

Holy ballsack.

My 7.3L turbo diesel attached to 10,500 lbs of aluminum and steel gets slightly better than that.

Usually I get 10-12L/100 but the strong wind over the last week sure cuts the acceleration and highway speed.
