What size tires are you going to run?

What size tires are you going to run?

The max size I can fit under the fenders without rolling or buying new suspension.
235/40/17

Speaking of which...

The weather turned nice. So what do you do?
You immediately take the car out as soon as your RWD sports car can traverse your mile long driveway after the ice disappears.

Let's git r dun.

Today we'll work in this general area here.

We'll do a little bit of poke poke...

...with a little help from the apprentice (those blowing leaves won't chase themselves across the yard)

...we'll discover that open ended lugs on OEM wheel studs leaves a little to be desired...

But the 4x4 will eventually sit on some new shoes.

After a quick curvy drive to settle the suspension and wear the release material off the rubber...

...she's ready for the summer of cone crunching and curve carving.
Bring it on.

Nothing substantial.

Reg'd for the first autox of the year, weather permitting. I'm a fairweather driver now. If the roof can't be down, I'm not driving the car.

Also this.

A couple of the vacuum lines on the new intake don't have clamps on them. I may need to rectify.
Cleared the code, we'll see if it returns.

Just remove the soft top. #weightsavings
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Well that was fun.

First event of the year with new shoes for the fun car.
Tons more grip, way more controllable. Now I just need to gain some confidence in this not-grip-all-the-damn-time vehicle.
Had a couple "gonna spin" moments where I would have just plowed through with a subaru, but managed to keep it together.

I'm gonna need to get out more, perhaps to an all day (weekend?) calgary event where I get more than 4 runs with no one to punch me when I tap the brakes for no good reason.

Fastest run (I think) with an 88.89 (Thanks Grant for the use of gopro)
That should put me in the top 60 at least, I hope.

Your car is one of my favorites sound wise as it goes around the track. Not to loud and not too quiet. I think the best part is the amount of different sounds it makes (deep exhaust tones, bypass/blow off noises, a whooshing sound and this other off throttle whistling sound I cant figure out).

She's finally escaped the cave!

The stockers will stay on with the crappy 050s until the weather turns nice enough all the time to put on the Falken Awesomes.
Not too much planned this year, so this thread will likely quietly die with the odd autox post.
Few and far between since autox has also died.

Sad world we live in now.

What do you mean autox has died? Sorry, not up to speed.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Calendar went from 8 events last year to 6. The season doesn't start until June.

Well, one third of our autoxs are done for the year.
I think I'm getting a handle on the car, but still need to trust it a bit more. That means it must be time for a tune and boost increase right?

Wrong.

First autox was hella fun. Great course.
No pictures, no videos, 3rd in raw (ullbayitshay in PAX)

Second autox was a bit tight, maybe some elements in some wrong places. But still fun overall.
Video coming.

Some boring pics.
