Nintendo Switch
« on: June 23, 2017, 07:56:06 am »
Anyone else have a switch?

I picked one up a few weeks ago, when it was in stock at EB. Managed to get the neon controllers as well. Initially just got Mario Kart 8, but just bought Zelda, a second set of Joy-cons and pre-ordered Super Mario Odyssey.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

I've been wanting one. Don't think I'll pull the trigger on one until Pokemon is released.

That said, I do want to play Zelda, it looks extremely good, not to mention all of the praise it's been getting.

And a Metroid game wouldn't go amiss either.

This looks cool but I don't do games on the go, so it would literally just be another console under my TV, forever.

So i'm waiting for a price drop in a couple years.
I used to drive Subaru's.

My Fiance got me one for xmas. Never would have bought it myself, but it's cool. Mainly play Mario Kart and Zelda, but also got Mario Odyssey. I do wish they had some more adult games though. I saw GTAV is coming, that will be cool, although I've beat it twice. A sim racing game would be nice, as would NHL and Madden.

Haven't actually played it yet, but there is a racing game out there for the switch.

Had no idea this existed, nor have I seen it at a store. Anyone play or have info on it?

edit: So I just went out and bought Gear.Club Unlimited last week as there weren't a lot of reviews and it was only $50. I also picked up NBA 2K18 off kijiji. Haven't played either yet, but I'll let you guys know how they are if interested.

I bought one for Zelda, but I'm hoping we get a pokemon game, or at least a port of an existing one. And maybe Dark Souls.

Picked up a Switch the other day, needed to pass three days of boredom away from home, and figured Zelda wouldn't be a bad way to do it.

I'm actually really happy with the portability, battery life, and heat management. It is extremely nice to play anywhere in the "camp" room... meaning bed or... bed. Possibly on the TV. The battery life, which I knew wasn't gonna be good, is surprisingly better than expected. I get roughly 3 to 4 hours of continuous Zelda usage, was expecting maybe 2. And the Switch doesn't get hot. Like, my laptop gets warmer just watching youtube. The built-in stand is horrendous though; it doesn't like to open nor does it actually like to stand.

Also, Smash Bros was announced the other day, definitely picking that up.

Aaand still waiting for Pokemon.

It is a waste.  I actually picked up some technic lego pieces and made my own stand that travels with me  ^-^

Friend has the Switch and I was playing Splatoon and it's a pretty fun game.

I'm planning on buying one as soon as Super Smash Bros is released. Probably one of the funnest games from my childhood.
Trailer for the game released last week:

I ended up buying a little tablet stand, so now I can charge and play separately from the switch.

Clearly I should have been like Canuckrz and still be playing Pokemon Go.

And Nintendo can take my money now... I'm buying a pokeball controller.

Looks interesting, but I don't know if I like that they brought the Pokemon go catch mechanics into the game

It also seems like they're still going to bring a Pokemon RPG in 2019 sometime, which I'm generally more excited for. GameFreak seems to be testing the waters with new mechanics.
