how the eff do you get these bearings out????
« on: June 28, 2017, 10:51:09 pm »
hey these Loaded AMX wheels have a clicky front sealed bearing in them.

Should be easy enough to get out but Ive not really seen a thing like this before. I pulled the o-ringed dust caps off and underneath there doesnt really seem to be any way to get these out. Theres a spinning red bit that is loose and wobbles a bit but wont come out, theres the bearing underneath that, then theres a center tube, then theres the other side bearing ad then the other spinining red bit...

any hints/clues? anyone ever owned one of these?

here is the dust cap, it was removed in all previous images

Found the tech document for your hub:

I would stick the end of a 20mm axle and try to pry off the "spinning red bits" and do the same to the bearings, similar to how people use the end of a skateboard truck axle to pry bearings out of wheels

That red outer part should just be a spacer, which comes out with some wiggling, and a strong masturbatory grip.

Then you pound out the bearing with a drift.

Can't get it. I'm chipping the metal trying to channel lock the caps off.

longlivetheride may have an idea.  Give him a PM, although he's in New Brunswick right now at a rally.  I'll tag him on fb for you.
