New to Western Canada
« on: October 20, 2017, 02:24:14 pm »
Hi everyone, I recently moved to Calgary from NB. I just picked up a WRB 2011 WRX Hatch, bone stock, single owner, dealer maintained, a bit of a unicorn if you ask me. I'm excited to get a few mods over the winter, haven't had a clean slate to build on before as my previous cars have all been slightly molested by previous owners  ::) I also have a 2004 WRX back home in NB which is the project car, just picked up a parts car for it as well to combine into one slightly less broken car.

Being a complete noob to YYC and the Alberta car scene I have no idea where any of the meets are or when they happen, if anyone has suggestions or knows of Subaru specific meets/events happening I'd love to hear about it as I miss the Subie community I was involved with back east. I work on the pipeline so my schedule changes constantly and I'm gone for weeks at a time usually, but I always need something to do when I'm off work. Also, if anyone has any hatch specific parts lying around they want out of the way I'd be happy to take them off your hands  :D

Attached a couple pics of my cars:

Welcome to Calgary!

Will you be bringing the 04 to Calgary or sticking with the 11 hatch?
We generally meet tuesday evenings on the NE at a Tim Hortons, not only just Subaru's, but most people who are part of this club.

For now just the hatch! The 04 needs an engine and a bunch of little things, so i’m just leaving st my fathers garage for now, gives me something to tinker on when I go home to visit ast least. Eventually I hope to get it out here!

Sweet! I’m originally from Fredericton as well, lived in Miramichi/Moncton for the past 15yrs, and thanks a lot! Foxzy looks great, I’d love to have one for a daily

Welcome to the club! Looking forward to see where you take the GR in terms of a build, any immediate mod's in mind?

Exhaust for sure! Ordered tail overlays today, hoping to get a Varis wing in the springtime, once I can afford to start breaking stuff I'll go stage 2 and get a protune. Saving all the big stuff for my GD, it's getting a closed deck 2.2 stroker with a garrett GT3582R

Beautiful cars.  Love the wheels you have on the Blobeye.

As cmyles mentioned, we meet at Tims every Tuesday.  Come out if you can:

Welcome man, NB is quite the move.

A clean 11' WRB WRX hatch, that was what I was looking for this summer, exactly what I wanted. Nice find!
