Engine Swap
« on: October 09, 2017, 04:28:09 pm »
Hi everyone as the tittle says I got questions about the engine swap
My car is 2006 WRX the engine is destroyed the crank and block is not rebuild able as far as I know.
I do have another engine which I bought years ago but I believe it's ej205
So if I would like to do the swap would I need to change the whole wiring and ecu? As of the WRX came with AVCS but the ej205 isn't .
Or can I just don't plug the AVCS and run it like that.
I do know whatever I did I'll need to get custom tune
Every input will be appreciated

Thank you

Going to an EJ205 from what it had is a serious downgrade. You sure you want to do that?
I may scream like a dainty lady, but I punch like a fairly strong 11-year-old.

That's what I figured too but I'm running short on funds and as I already have the ej205 laying around so was thinking if that will work and with the 06 WRX ECU?

Thanks

It won't work without changing out a ton of harness and getting an ECU to match the engine.  You'd be better off (and cheaper in the long run) to sell the 205 and buy a 255.
