Yet another new member
« on: October 12, 2017, 11:24:50 am »
Hey all,

Brief intro here from me. I'm a metro Edmonton type who just recently picked up my first Subie (a '98 JDM Fozzy SF5). I've had previous JDMs ('90 Suzuki Carry a couple years ago) and my family has had some very long lived Subies in the past, but this one is my personal first.

I'm not a spring chicken and am a professional in my 9-5, so this Fozzy fits the bill as mild mannered veneer hiding a bit of a wild side. I also like to go out cycling, so having the extra room over my previous Opel Astra H is sure nice.

I look forward to taking part in the discussion on the forum and seeing some of you around at different meets. If you have any questions, feel free to ask ;)

Just another Subie pilot :)

Yeah, Jellynuts. There are a few of us with quiet, reserved work personalities that jump out of planes or fly down mountains on bicycles at 80+ km/h on the weekend.

Personally, I tend to think more along the lines of Michael Keaton playing Bruce Wayne...you know the scene... he's standing there in a nicely tailored 3-piece suit with a fireplace poker in one hand shouting "You wanna get nuts? C'mon, let's get nuts!" at Joker  >:D ;D

Hey Thedude,

Yeah, I have a few (including the one in my avatar), but they are all on my computer....need to upload them to some webspace before I can drop them in.

I'll look to do that this weekend if I get a chance. :)

Looks like it's in great shape! I have a similar year with the n/a 2.5, if you need interior parts let me know, mine will be parted soon enough  :)

DaDuke99, you are quite right that it is in great shape.

It was a dealer vehicle, not an auction car, and was originally intended to be for a member of my importer's family. I think he snagged a really good one intending to keep it, but the family member couldn't handle RHD, so I sniped it :D

Diamondedge....yeah, I heard about that guy after I was blessed with "psycho" at work. I dunno....something about getting a truck completely airborne at an industrial site's 20 km/h followed by getting 2" of mud on the roof (plus my many "unusual" hobbies over the years) just made my co-workers think I was beyond crazy.

Honestly, you'd think none of them ever got crazy once in a while... or something like that ;)

It's amazing what you find when you go through some of the cubbyholes in a Fozzy. Found a keychain fob for the dealership that matches my dealer sticker on the back (Tokyo Subaru).  I don't have the image stored on-line to drop in here yet, but I thought it was a nice "bonus" find in my Forester :)
