Rode Tres Hombres in Marmot last week. Was my first time at Marmot in a while, and although they didn't have that much snow, all of the Tres Hombres chutes were pretty solid. The "ski-out-esque" ending to get back to the main part of the mountain kind of sucks, but I would certainly ride it again (especially if they have some fresh snow).

I ended up going to Lake Louise instead, due to the avalanche closure, as well as to experience Louise when it isn't just ice. ::)

Still tons of snow, about the same amount of snowfall as sunshine. It was amazing, but was starting to get tracked out towards the end of the day. By saturday, I'm sure it will be mostly tracked out :(

I must say, taking the bow valley trail around the traffic jam to Lake Louise was a bit of a snowy adventure  ;D

Ahh will be disappointed if it's full tracked out by Saturday. Regardless, quite stocked as it's my first time out this season!  ^-^

Im sure you'd be able to find pretty good snow if you know where to look. Id say that snow usually remains to be found at least 3-4 days after a snowfall.

I think that finding fresh tracks will be hard by Saturday, unless you are prepared to hike. It shouldn't be hard to find a handful of rocks to bang up your base and edges on though. There's still lots of that available... :(

A buddy and I were there last Sunday, and just near the t-bar lift, if you keep right (looking down the hill) and go near the decommissioned chair, there was probably 2 feet of powder almost the whole way down the hill.

We tried the back side, all along the front, and everywhere was tracked out besides this area. It was crazy fun, and definitely worth it staying there most of the day.
The races were happening too, so that also pushed a lot of people away from that area.

I disagree. Especially when Louise is reporting 34cm in 24 hours, 62cm in 48 hours and 132cm in seven days.

I guess there's only one way to find out.

Anything off paradise chair is generally the only thing worth doing.
If theres been no wind, the peak platter can be pretty ok.

Pretty much. There's lots of good stuff on the backside off the platter, but those are long laps to get back.

Off of Paradise, big 7 is a fav.

I also have a soft spot for the trees skier's left off Top of the World.

All the recommendations that have been given so far are pretty good. I'm usually up in the back bowls on the other side of platter. Sometimes we hike places, sometimes we dont, but you can usually find good snow in that area simply because a lot of people just hate using the platter lift.

The Dive opened yesterday around 1:30, lots of great snow back there but also lots of debris from bombing/avy control.

A reminder that if you are going to ride it, follow proper backcountry etiquette.

I'm planning on going for the first time this season this weekend. Hoping snow conditions are still good, I know they're not going to be like last weekend sadly.

I went to LL on Saturday and the majority of the mountain was more tracked out than I've seen before. Found some of the best runs of my life slightly OB after short hikes. Wish I was there on Thursday/Friday to experience all the glory.

Forecast is calling for some heavy snow accumulating to about 20 cms on Saturday night. Sunday might be worth it, but with it being the long weekend i'd be ready to expect some pretty big lines.

On a completely other note, do any of you cross-country ski? I know it can be boring to a large group of people, but I quite enjoy it and have been doing it more and more every year. Looking to pick up some newer skis here in the upcoming days/weeks.

If Sunshine indeed gets that much Saturday night, I'll be waking up early Sunday for first tracks!
