Hi all. We have run these in the past using Gran Turismo, but there seems to be some more interest in the newest version of Project Cars.
My thoughts on the poll are, If you were to buy a game to race in an organized Sim Racing season here through WSC... What game would you be most into playing?
Keep in mind that I don't own either yet.
The rules as we have run them in the past solo series. I am always open to revisions to this format as of course some will be required (PC2 lack of PP system, dependant on recording lap time features... stuff like that).... This is cut from the previous solo series thread.
Competition Summary/How It Will Work:
We will be using the Playstation Network (PSN), but you aren't required to set up a WSC Solo only user/PSN Name. You will be required to hook your PS3 up to the network (might be able to get around this too - Honour System) We will run mini series of 10 races to keep it accessible. Schedules permitting, we will try and organize a shootout for the top competitors.
I like the idea of people racing the cars they want. The limits will be set based on PP, not the car.
1. Game Selection: GT5P, and GT5
2. Track/Course will be set - mandatory for everyone
3. PP and Physics will be set - mandatory for everyone if in Arcade, pre-determined or optional in On line Mode. Car's will be participants choice
4. Suspension/Transmission/Driving Aids such as Traction Control, Stability Management, Driving Line - Set or Optional dependent on Mode
5. Game Input - Wheel/Six axis, clutch-stick, paddle will be user choice
6. You will have 1 week to practice and obtain your best 1-lap time (or thereabouts)
7. Save your "Best Lap Ghost Replay"
8. Submit your time prior to the deadline via PM here on the WSC forum to Jackal -- Please include your PSN Name (for time verification)
9. Points will be awarded to the winners
10. Champion declared after the final race of the season -- Might be able to get prizes if people are interested
Qualifying Lap Rules:
1. Two (2) wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
2. Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
3. The green painted concrete next of the rumbles is not part of the track
4. Runoff areas are not part of the track
5. No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
6. If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
7. No hybrids (Not sure what the eff this is, but I think it has to do with leet hax)
8. No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races
9. Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
10. Save your best lap/ghost replay
