Barbarella seems more like a name for a Trans Am.

Nah, I like Barbarella. She's got the stars as her umbrella. With all that torque, sets your heart from zero gravity and sends it to ecstasy.

It's like I don't even know you anymore.

Ah. There we go. My memory is jogged. I accept this name. The LS430 is basically a spaceship.

Here's the story.  Kirsten and I have been running into the Barbarella movie over and over.  When we moved in together it seemed to always be on, and it became this running joke with us. It's a cheeseball b movie and I've watched it a couple time. The name resonated with me and here we are.

It's a great movie. Not sure if I see the overlap between the LS430 and it, but I'm willing to play along and see where this goes.

I feel like Tank Girl would be a better homage for a luxobarge.

I accept this name.

I'm sure most of us would have preferred Bob... Although it's not my car so I shouldn't say anything  ::)

Knowing almost nothing about building sub boxes I decided to cut the existing one down so I can actually use the trunk.  I have long found it embarrassing to open the trunk and only have a sliver (literally only about 12" of trunk along the back not filled with enclosure).  It was really brought to my attention recently when I picked up some people from the airport and two reasonable sized suitcases couldn't fit back there.

I took the existing box and cut 10" off the back of it and replaced the back cover on the now much smaller enclosure.  I also moved the port to the back of the box, and replaced what I would consider ittshay wiring inside the Kicker factory box.

Sound wise I am ok with it.  It certainly doesn't seem to punch as hard as it used to,  but to my ear it's more reasonable sounding from the two 10" subs.  The better half will give the final ok though, as she's the one looking for bass that punches you in the gut. No pictures of it yet as I have to make it pretty again,  but after some tests, I'll determine if I'm keeping it this way.

Hah, I was baffled as to how you could possibly pick up multiple people w luggage from the airport in a Lotus, and then realized we are not talking about the Lotus.  ^-^

Something about picturing your better half blasting some Flux Pav or Bassnectar has me grinnin' like mad. Or just some old school Biggie.

I also thought we were in the Lotus thread, and was wondering why you'd be picking up multiple people from the airport.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Not a ton of updates here that have cool visuals.  The wrap colour has been chosen, and we'll be waiting for spring when the other two cars become primary rotation.  We did however choose a set of Work Schwert SC3's in 19" to put on Barbarella. They need the clear coat redone,  but that may wait until next year based on all the other projects we have going on the three project cars we somehow fell into.

This was a short lived project. Barbarella was involved in a deer strike a few weeks back,  and has been written off.  A replacement has already been sourced and I'll be starting a new thread.

Glad everyone's ok. The trip home cross country with the new whip looks a lot more fun with breaks between.
