Get new lugs to replace the old 7-sided security ones & use a 12 point socket & a hammer. Maybe a little penetrating spray to help ease em off the threads. You may split some sockets having to do all 20 lugs, but that's probably the best immediate solution.

You can buy 7-sided lug keys off amazon for like 10$ or something but then you gotta wait who knows how long for them to show up.
Try other wheel shops like wheels plus. They may have a 7-sided key. The right tool for the job is always best, but if you need those wheels off RFN, option one is probably your way to go.

Edit: Nevermind, haha glad you found it too!  :P

Huge thanks to Logan Angus today for getting me a killer deal on my BC Racing BR coilovers.

Ordered them with 16k springs all around and the extreme low kit. Should be here before Christmas but obviously won't be installing them till spring. All I need now is to make up my mind on some wheels and pull the trigger on those as well.

Picking wheels is the hardest uckfaying thing haha.

Haha I had 14k all around on my Forester STI and it honestly wasn't that bad. And I did speak to someone at BC and they do re-valve the coils to handle the stiffer springs.

My neighbor has one that looks exactly like yours.

'cept his is an autotragic.  :(

They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

Finally got around to installing the NRG quick release/hub and the Nardi Deep Corn steering wheel. Interior is finally starting to feel how I like. Just need to swap head units and relocate the Defi controller and the interior will basically be finished.

New (to me) Yakima Space Booster.

I have also decided to keep these wheels until spring so I can see how they look when I lower the car. Trying to save money, so if they look alright once lowered I may just powder coat them and run 15mm spacers.

Well...the car is already in the shop.

Went to WEM yesterday to do some Christmas shopping and when I got into my car and started it I heard what sounded like water gurgling. I did some quick research on my phone and looked like air in the coolant system causes this. Knowing that I went on my way with plans to burp the system when I got home.

I go about 10 or so blocks, see a red light, go to brake and push my brake pedal right to the floor. I managed to downshift and use some of the brakes to slow down enough to pull over in the neighborhood to my right.

Now, I don't know if the gurgling was air in the brake lines etc. or if it was the coolant and this is just a big coincidence.

Anyone have any ideas what could have caused the brake pedal to push to the floor all of a sudden? It didn't just fall and it still had some pressure but I could push it down pretty easy. Could the gurgling be air in the brake lines or what not?

Also, after this the parking brake light stayed on (which I read is an indicator that you're low on brake fluid as well as the parking brake indicator) and the car overheated (about 201c). So that makes me think that there was a coolant issue as well.

Because of the way brake systems are plumbed you could have just broken one line and still have pressure on the other. They are plumbed in a X systems so you always have at least one front wheel still available for braking

So last night when I got home it was too dark to check out the car and I don't have a garage so I had it towed right to First Gear. Just got a call from them and it is all sorted out now.

What happened was, when the seller had all the pads/rotors replaced in the car the shop that did them didn't torque anything to spec. Apparently my brake pad fell off, then all my brake fluid leaked out. So that pretty much explains everything. Quick, simple fix and the car will be back on the road. They are also going to flush and bleed my coolant system to get all the air out.

All is well.

Went to swap my head unit and wow was I in for a surprise.

For one, the stereo surround on this car is near impossible to remove due to a few small screws holding the ash tray track in place. Once off, I thought I was finally in the clear...uckfay was I wrong.

I don't think I have ever seen a bigger uckfaying mess of wiring in my entire life. Instead of making a nice simple hardness for the stereo, everything is spliced into the stock wiring along with about 10 other different accessories (which I am guessing are the turbo timer, Japanese card reader, other weird Japanese accessories). Needless to say I got extremely frustrated and put everything back and said uckfay it.

This is now way past my wiring expertise (which I have none of) so I will need to either take it to shop and pay an arm and a leg to swap a head unit or maybe I will get lucky and there is a local WSC wiring guru who wouldn't mind taking a look and giving me a hand.... :)

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures as I was way too frustrated at this point and I had my gf with me who was cold and tired haha

On the plus side while at First Gear they cleaned my MAF and a few of my vacuum lines and now my primary turbo is boosting almost to where it needs to be. Was hitting only 0.5 bar and is now getting about 0.7 bar so we are almost where it should be.

If you were in Calgary, I'd offer to clean it up for you. I wouldn't be the best at it, but I'd feel comfortable at least.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Finally got her into full winter mode. Removed the 18 inch Advans and put on my 16" steelies with studded WS2's and I kinda dig the look actually. The black wheels really compliment the look of the car nicely, especially with the red lug nuts.

Oh and I finally took some pictures of my exhaust set up.

For those who follow me on Instagram you saw what I initially had put on. Well I didn't end up actually liking how it looked to I went back to ABC and had them swap out the dual tips for this 4" single. I wanted it to be aggressive and noticeable but not quite as obnoxious as my last blast pipes. I think I found a good middle ground.

Now, I am not sure if it is because of the EJ208 or what but I this car is quite a bit quiter than my Forester STI and GC8 were. The only difference between exhaust set ups is this is a 3" straight piped cat back with a single 4" tip and the other cars were 2.5" straight piped cat backs with dual 3" tips.

2x Turbo's, 2x Cats if I'm not mistaken.
Its going to be much quieter.

Looks good though! Those steelies suit the car quite well.
Do they fit the car with that tire size though?

Single turbo swap! Much cheaper option than ordering twin turbo downpipes from japanland haha!

I really want to do a single swap! I don't think it will be happening any time soon but I do want to do it. I am pretty sure almost everything from an STB an swap over to make the single set up.

I am not sure if this is a dumb question or not as I know when messing with a down pipe you should always get a tune but....would simply de-catting the down pipes cause me to need a tune? Or only if I am changing the size of the down pipe or what not?

I'm really liking the black and white theme.

Thanks! I actually really like it too. I was never a fan of black wheels as from a distance they just look like steelies  but this is making me want black wheels for summer as well ha.

Oh, and it is now officially a Subaru...Hella horns.

I'd get a tune. Better safe than boost-spike/creep sorry.

What tuning options do you have with these?

Where's the O2 sensor located?  Short answer is, yes, I'd get it re-tuned.

Back in my Hondarrr days, we'd need a spacer for the O2 sensor when using test pipes/removing the cat.  Anti-foulers.  I'm not suggesting you do that, but rather, just saying that even on NA vehicles, it would pull a CEL by removing the cat.

In that case I will just leave them alone. I want to keep this car reliable so I won’t mess with anything that could potentially harm the car.  I wanted it just for the sound so it’s not worth it. Thanks boys.
