Damn can’t believe it accounts for that much! I average about 8.5L/100kms but I also cruise in 6th doing 65kph at like 2k rpm when I drive in the city ahah. I also never use the ac, I’m guessing that has a way bigger effect than the power steering!?

Fixing the ps seems like a itchbay. If mine goes I might try to put in an sr20 ps pump, I heard they fit with little modification.

As Perfect Dark so kindly pointed out, I should go polish my headlights. So, I shall. Such a nice guy, pointing out something for my safety, and ensuring everyone has their steering wheels properly affixed to the steering column.

Hey man, gotta keep those nuts tight. I know PD in particular loves tight nuts.

Also, don't burn your headlights.

9.9-8.34 = 1.56L/100km= 53.35MJ/100km, assuming an average speed of 60km/h, = 32.01 MJ/h = .008892MJ/s = 8892 W = 11.9HP * 20% to account for typical gasoline engine efficiency, 2.4HP

in all seriousness the only real way to measure this would be to idle the car with and without the A/C and PS and dip the fuel tank.

I don't care enough to do that.

Rough estimate is sufficient.

Small update.

The power steering pump now squeals quite a bit during start up, goes away after it warms up. I'm fairly certain it's because we machined the bearing bronze to the steel specifications, and since they have different expansion and contraction rates, it'll give the issues. Might look into that later.

Grille needs to be replaced, had a bit of an incident, which sucks but could have been so much

I also recently did plugs, needed to do something that wasn't school. Turns out the valve cover has a fairly substantial leak.

This is the cam position sensor, requires a new o-ring (far as I've been able to find in the manuals.

But good news, the burn seems fine. Cyl 1 at top, 4 at bottom. The cyl 3 plug seems a little burnt.

The timing belt looks to be in good condition still.

Likely cause it was replaced at 122k.

And that's about that.

the date and km dont make sense to me...

year 24? 2012 was year 24 of the Heisei period. ?? is the kanji for it.

Then the bottom line says meter display line km: /22.38/km

Wierd because it should say like 22.38 thousand km or more I would assume. like isnt the belt interval like 220 thousand?

((lol this forum isnt weab enough. Google the kanji for heisei it looks nothing like the symbol before the 24, which is either another 4 or the hiragana for Ke.)

The /22 makes sense when you look at the way the tech wrote '1' on the sticker, and if it was changed in 2012, that'd also make sense.

So... finally got around to installing the hellas that have been sitting in the trunk for the last year

Simple install; the OEM ones ground through the chassis, so made a short ground wire to go the bolt and tucked it behind. And no need for an aftermarket bracket, used original locations and fits perfectly behind the new grille.

Oh yeah, new grille. Was backed into during school in like... November? Friend had it ordered like days after the 4am incident, but we excel at procrastination... all of us. The headlight retrofit has been a thing since Canada Day.

Did some work here:

And here:

Cole found this is the old seat, it was not mine. So TRINKET FROM JAPAN!

It lives here now:

And rear legroom is still a thing!

Practicality; still has it.

And as one can clearly see, I took this last one with my phone... while my nice camera is just chilling on the driver seat.

I'm sure there'll be better pictures up soon.
Sometime.
Maybe.

When the headlights are done.

Well, got my tax return, paid for things (not related to the car), set up a job, was sideswiped on the Deerfoot, and the guy ran. Police report filed, stuff in progress. Annoyed Red is annoyed.

So that's a thing. The doors are fine, just scuffed and the plastic guards are fairly trashed. Unfortunately, the quarter is damaged. Fortunately, buddy figures it can be repaired, but if that's getting done, I wanna fix the rock chips, touch up the bumpers, and all those strange water mineral mark things completely. But if that's happening, might as well do a complete colour change. Or just not and drive it. It's a 50/50 at the moment.

Anyway, I'm nearing 200k, currently sitting at 192,500km. Likely going to be putting a bunch more km on it in the near future, so it'd be nice to do some work to it, such as:
- Power steering delete/manual rack. The pump is still being persnickety and leaky, makes noises, and occasionally decides that it doesn't wanna work. I don't want to fork over $400+ for a new one from New Zealand.
- Clutch. She's pretty worn. (have materials for)
- Timing belt and water pump (have materials for)
- Pull the motor and do new seals on the leaking surfaces. (have some materials for)
- Coils or new struts. The rear dampers are starting to show signs of weeping.
- Brakes, cause might as well. There's quite a lip on the fronts, and the rears look unevenly worn.
- Any other mechanical touch-ups.
- Flock the dash (have materials for)

The plan was to do this work while I had the Green EG Civic, but ended up selling that to my brother as his Civic met an untimely demise.

More indecisiveness to come!

Looks really good man. Can't wait to see you finish the headlights.
And boy howdy are they gonna look good! :P

Man, what was the other vehicle? No plate?

It was an early 00s Accent 2 door coupe. Nope. Didn't get the plate. Couldn't see it clearly, was absolutely filthy, and I wasn't thinking about that. Should have, but was not on my mind, as he appeared to be pulling over. Huge uckfay-up on my part.

Well, I'm less than 300km from 200k, and I have some things coming...
Eibach sway bars
Toda lightweight flywheel
Rear brakes

Along with the other supply of parts, it should be pretty decent after. Still contemplating strut options. Rather, know roughly what I'm gonna get, just gonna happen sometime.

Yes headlights look sad, like this update. Pics or GTFO
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.
