So Wednesday Brian/B-Pro arranged shipping to leave Vancouver to Calgary, where Brian was quite communicative and willing to answer nearly all my questions about potential OPI shops, customs papers, and all that good stuff.

Nearly all that good stuff.

The moment I asked about potential arrival dates, dead silent. Nothing, nada. Zip. Zilch. So, I have no idea when the car is gonna be in Calgary. Hopefully before Thursday. Because of Christmas and itshay, it'll be all but impossible to get an OPI done this year.

I'll touch base with the shipper again tomorrow. Should be early this week.

Only second to Lemons builds.

Lift it
Time to find a 8" lift kit. (plz no)

Drewfpfx, somehow I'm gonna work that air filter into the car.

If it's good enough for a supercharged Tundra, it's good enough for BEAMS. :)

You can never have too much airflow :)

Woo, school finished, home for holidays, all that good stuff.

Now time to hound Brian/B-pro.

I still haven't heard from him since December 17th, nor has my car shown up at Spec R yet. Tried emailing, calling, and texting today, no response in email, went straight to voice mail, and nothing from the text line. So here I sit, somewhat patiently waiting. Hopefully the car shows up before Christmas, otherwise getting an OPI and winters on is gonna suck and the car is just gonna sit there while everyone is closed for Christmas Holidays. I'm not sure if it'll cut in with my time for registry, or if I'm gonna be SOL...

But yeah, that's what I know so far. I don't know if it's coming by plane, train, or automobile. Or if it missed its connecting flight and now it's home alone.

It's impressive how this build thread has made it to 3 pages (assuming you are viewing 25 posts per page), and the car's not even here yet...

That's impressive!

It does exist.

These are for you; Jessica, TPerkins, and Jellynuts ;)

So, yesterday, emailed, called, and texted Brian/B-pro. No avail
Called B-pro again, swung by the office he has listed, no one there.
Called the office number on the building, and I got Judy, who was fantastic around 2:30pm. She got Brian to give me a call within 5 minutes of hanging up. Reason for his lack of response, "Christmas with family." To paraphrase Canuckrz...

"It's Thanksgiving, I'm closed for Halloween."

The car was in the shipping yard just outside of Calgary, oh cool. Had a bit of an adventure getting out to look at the car, but we actually saw it! And started it! Man, I'm so stoked for when I can actually register and drive it.

Asked the guy at the shipping company how long it's been there, "couple days"

Uh huh.

So my experience with B-Pro after picking out the car has been dismal, at best. After speaking with LDS and his experience with William/JDM Connection, two hours turn around. I had to call someone else to pester him just to get answer.

The next steps... Either wait for the shipping company to move, or just tow it. Have Spec R throw the tires on, then get the OPI done at Alpine Auto.

Then, register! And enjoy that sweet sweet, clean interior and like super smooth motor. And the battery was changed at 128k km, only 390CCA though.

It's not gonna be on the road until the new year.

TIL range road signs are hard to read and driving past at 80 km/h will lead you to missing them. Needless to say RnW, Canookrz and myself were in Bearspaw AND Conrich tonight.

BUT IT EXISTS

tperkins' importer sounds very reliable.  If I ever imported a car, which I would love to, it would be through him. This BPro kid sounds like he's either a) lazy, or b) got too big and doesn't care for the small fry anymore.

I have used William before, and Mark. Mark is an exporter so this side of things you handle yourself, but it is seriously as easy as a few phone calls. For sure less phone calls then were made to Brian to figure out when it would get here lol.

Unfortunate about sounding pretty good in the process until this, then just not answering. I have seen Brian actually go above and beyond for customers so I was curious how this would turn out. I know of a couple engines he has replaced that didn't make it very far from port.

Anyways, those pictures are terrible. I look forward to some proper ones lol. Congrats again! The day you pick it up is the best.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Like, I don't know what the scoop is. The other thing, he advertised on his website that there was also a complimentary oil change and coolant flush before it left Japan. And I was told, "hey, best check the coolant temp, wasn't changed before it left Japan."

I've heard him go above and beyond too, which is what originally appealed to me. And when I was talking with Judy, the very nice admin, she thought it was really strange that he wasn't answering.

Also, 5.1L of oil and 6.8L of coolant.

When the car is free of transport dirt, not covered in 6 inches of *Calgary* snow, I'll post better pictures ;)

The plot thickens...

After speaking with the shipping company... The car was set up from B-pro's side to be shipped to my home address. It wasn't delivered cause the semis can't go down residential. Which makes sense from that end.

But well before the car even reached Vancouver, I had requested that it be shipped to Spec R/Haute.
Oct 20; day I pulled the trigger and paid, "Can it be shipped to a shop in Calgary?" replied, yeah no problem
Nov 22; "Here's the address for Haute" (car was still unknown as to it's location, as it hadn't hit customs yet).
Dec 11; cleared customs, I asked to ship to Haute again
Dec 13; that's when shipping was arranged to Haute, and specifically Haute because he had highlighted it in the email. I also paid the shipping costs that day.

That's just the shipping end of this cluster uckfay.

And for the "Nissan Altezza" bit, that's my fault. I didn't check my pink slip thoroughly when I got it arranged weeks ago, it was insured as a filthy Nissan. Luckily, the ladies at AMA Crowfoot were amazingly helpful and made sure I got my OPI inspection request form and in transit stickers properly branded.
