^ To elaborate on that comment, here's my review of the car since it seems to be running well for the time being. I'll be comparing this car against my s2000 I sold last summer since WSC stands more for Western S2000 Club than Subaru at this point.
Power: It's hands down faster than a S2K. The 207 feels like my S2K did below 4000 rpm; despite everything I read about the engine, I still thought it would have more low end torque than it does. Although the engine revs out to 8k, I miss the sounds and feel of the linear F20C. I really can't complain about having 200-250 whp from 4500 to 8000 as it makes for a usable and predictable power band. I've also read that people think this is a smooth engine.... I don't really agree - a RB or a VQ is a smooth engine, this is manic in comparison.
Braking: The STi itshay's all over the S2K, but its also important to note that I was on stock pads and shittier tires with the S2K so it's hard to really make an accurate comparison. My S2K dived harder under braking (it did have smaller front width tires though) while the STi is more stable. The bigger rotors and pads, Brembo's, and stainless lines make a noticeable difference - who would have thought.
Transmission: Honestly, both are good. The S2K is more direct and has a much shorter throw, but the STi's is smoother and feels more robust. Both have aggressive gearing. For the sake of this comparison and taking the stance of an enthusiast, the S2K is slightly better.
Steering/Turn-in: The STi itshay's all over the S2K.
JK. The S2K goes where you point it. The STi asks you once or twice if you're sure that you want to turn. That said, once you set the car there is a ton of grip. It's more of a slow in and fast out car than the S2K. The tires make a huge difference, and on the street it would be hard to get any understeer with the car. The STi also has more body roll than the S2K, which although can add grip, is less confidence inspiring. I think a sway bar, alignment, and a stiffer set of shocks/springs (especially in the rear) would make it funner.
Overall, unless you are taking your S2K to the track every weekend then it's boring around Edmonton. There just isn't enough turns and the power isn't there to make up for it.... maybe I should have bought a Z06.
