LED headlights
« on: December 03, 2017, 01:14:07 pm »
I had purchased a set but on my 2003 legacy there's a plastic ring that holds the light in the socket not allowing the LED i bought to fit.

Im hoping someone here knows of a proper fitment?

Is it a problem kinda like tabs don't fit in the housing?

I'll take a picture tomorrow. There's an additional white plastic ring that belongs with the car that also holds the lightbulb in place. It wouldn't fit over the huge butt end of the LED bulb. Like a little fan and heat sink unit.

I'm either getting LED's or finding Decent aftermarket fog/ driving lights because it's dark on the way to work and way back

My experience with CREE LED bulbs was not so good. And since you have a 9007 bulb I would not recomend due to it also being your high beam.

I remember a guy testing out osram and sylvania bulbs about 10 years ago and the Sylvania Xtravison produced the most lumens. Only $30 for a pair at Canadian Tire

Call will at prolightz. Walked me through what I need, had it within a couple days, install was a breeze.

Naw, he's talking about the plastic retaining lockring thing that holds the bulb in.

While searching google images for said plastic ring thing, came across this.

Ya, I know exactly what you're talking about. The link I sent had LEDs that you could disassemble. If that isn't the case with yours, you might be SOL.

Might need to exhange them for something different, like the ribbon style heatsink;

Kango - Do you have the single bulb headlight or the dual bulb set-up?  The dual bulb set-up is a H1 for low-beam
