I feel that the wing would have a larger impact on a narrow body wrx, like yours.

I do not think it looks bad on either body style.

Don't tell me when you sell this one, cause I'm still sad about the forester.

Should start a pool. I claim May. It'll be gone once he can DD the miata.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

I don't think I'll ever DD the Miata, too many KM to work and back, not worth it.
I give it a year with this car, or I sell it before something breaks.. one or the other.

where did you find the spoiler?
I've been looking for one for a while, with zero luck finding them in stock. new or used

It actually came with the car, it had just been sitting at a body shop and the kid couldn't afford to pay off the remaining amount for the work done.

Re: CMyles "New Project" 2009 Subaru WRX - LED Headlight Conversion
« Reply #34 on: February 03, 2018, 01:29:28 pm »
I picked up some headlights from Auxbeam as the stock ones just weren't pretty enough, and a fog light was out..
I used the 9006 NF-B2 for the fog lights, and the F-S2 H11 bulb for the low beams. The fog lights actually color shift when power is cycled, so they go from "yellowish" to a nice blue. Really nice feature that I was pleasantly surprised by.

I was looking into getting those Aux LEDs for my fogs before but ended up getting the Morimoto xb fogs instead. Just curious, do the LEDs change colors when the car is turned off and then back on?

So how often do the fog lights end up different colours? And if they do end up different colours is there an easy way to get them in sync again. :) My foglight just DIED on the Forester, and I'm digging it!

Yeah I think when power cycles they change, but there might be a "time out" length.
I'll have to check back in.

They haven't ever been different colors. I think they always start out one color, then if you cycle them they go to the other color.

Re: CMyles "New Project" 2009 Subaru WRX - Finally on WINTERS!
« Reply #41 on: February 20, 2018, 09:04:39 am »

I finally slapped on some winter tires, which unfortunately because of the seller giving me the wrong info, and being 2 hours from Calgary.. are the wrong size for the car.

He stated in the ad, 205/50R17, WICKED, perfect size.
Shows up, and boom, they're 205/50R16 which are too damn small.
They fit, but the speedo is off by like 5%.. which drives me crazy, and I wanted to put the tires onto my OZ's.

So I put the tires on for the video, and might end up looking for something different, or run them for the time being, sell the OZ's, WHOOO KNOWS!

Anyway, watch the video if you're still skeptical about winter tires.

Re: CMyles "New Project" 2009 Subaru WRX - Quieter, only by a little!

So I ended up ordering a Dynamax Bullet 24215 Muffler, should act more as a resonator, but should help quiet it down a little bit at least...I hope!
Should be here next week, so hopefully I can pull the exhaust off and weld that on.
Also finally got the two new wheel studs installed, so that is nice!

Other than that, no new updates with the car, hoping that the weather stays nice enough to start working on some stuff in the garage.

I honestly don't know where else to start with this car. It has suspension, it has a full exhaust system, it has wheels and tires now..
WIDEBODY?

Nah, I don't think I'd ever lift a car.

Do it

IF there was a company that made a widebody, I would consider it. There are only flares available and I'm not a huge fan of how they look on the car. The body lines have too staright of an edge 90* to the ground, I wish it had a bit more "hips".

They look sort of just "slapped on". I still would much rather have stock STi body.. actually I want stock STi body WITH flares.

Flares on the first gen GR fit about as well as that hoodscoop.
