Wheel bearing
« on: January 18, 2018, 01:24:44 pm »
So I've got to do my right rear wheel bearing on my '06 XT before I install my ADF lift..

I've got my parts in a cart on RockAuto (bearing, 3 seals), my question is, is there somewhere locally that I can grab those parts for a similar price? Also, looking to rent a hub puller and bearing press kit, any idea which part stores rent 'em out?

Rockauto is cheap for bearings. I purchased F+R + seals for my GD WRX for $300 total.

I also have a Shark Hub kit http://www.kentool.com/index.php/products/pro-super-hub-shark which I can rent or even sell to you. It cost me $500-ish a few years ago and that's also going to be your deposit if you wish to rent it.

I know for sure it does rear GD bearings and I even have an old race in the kit which can be used as a press.

Thanks for the info, Asstuna.

I'll just go with RockAuto then. I'll also go ahead an order the hub puller (slide hammer) and bearing set from Amazon, at least I'll have it handy for when the other ones go.

Do you recommend replacing the hub as well?

Check out Part Source or Canadian tire for the tool loaner program as well.
