Subaru Forester Roof Rail Delete

Hey everyone, my roof rails decided one day to both break off, which is okay since I don't use them.. but now have some nasty spaces left on my roof.
I am looking to see if anyone has done a "rail delete" on their Subaru's. I have a few ideas on how to clean it up and make it look somewhat decent. just looking for other options and opinions.

If by chance you would consider reinstall over delete (if you're in there already..) I in fact do have a perfectly good pair that are just gonna get scrapped anyways  :)

are they for a first generation forester? I may just install new ones as I cant find anything on this.
