2001 JDM B4 RSK Cabin Air Filters
« on: April 17, 2018, 08:38:24 am »
Hello all, I tried searching for a topic about this but found none.

I recently purchased a JDM B4 RSK and it has a very noticeable tobacco smell, previous owner in Japan was most likely a smoker. I can also smell it coming from the vents when I put the A/C in re-circulation mode, so I thought of changing the cabin air filter. Has anyone done this procedure before? I tried going over the workshop manuals for this model but there was no mention of cabin air filters or part numbers thereof in the manual..

Guessing it's behind the glovebox. Would it be different for JDM? Maybe, maybe not.

Thank you for the link! Unfortunately I'm looking more on what type of air filter I should use. The video did not really link to any website about what specific air filter to use.

Ah sorry, yes. I personally use Fram's Fresh Breeze.

Fram's part number CF10383 seems to be the part number for the Legacy...

If the previous owner was a smoker, it would be tough to oxidize all of the smells which are embedded in all of the fabrics. Ozone treatment is a thing I would look into to help out.

You might just have to take it out, measure it to confirm it meets the USDM version (or find some other filter of the same size) and then replace it?

Put your VIN in here: https://partsouq.com/

Search the photos until you find the cabin filter. Find the part number on the left hand column. Plug that part number into google and see what part numbers supersede it within North America.

Cool link, Dr. Beans! After combing through the site I found the part number. And looking at the drawings it seems to be a different shape compared to the USDM Legacy filters. I got my size measurements too so I think I will be able to find a compatible replacement. Thank you very much!
