Rear brakes shot
« on: April 30, 2018, 09:41:47 am »
Hi,

On my 2011 Impreza 2.5, 97000km rear brake pad (left side, outer pad) is gone - metal to metal contact.
I do the brakes by myself.
Subaru quoted $120 for pads and $120 per rotor.
Rockauto (daily driver) - $160 for everything (delivered).
Canadian tire and Auto value are about $180 per set.

On Amazon
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00TR766UA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2603KOY559FTB&psc=1

Set for $70 (free delivery), carbon/ceramic pads; MAX parts, claimed to be Canadian.

Would there be anyone with experience on Amazon parts?
How bad they could be at this price?
Thx,

Components are in, exact fit. Brakes are operational.
Everything seems to be right.
There was an issue with the lower passenger glider pin bushing - kind of soft, hard to make it fixed to the pin while pushing the pin into the bracket support. Took me few attempts - playing with the lubrication to get it in.
Dealers sell Calipers kit for rebuilding ($138), no separate bushings. ---Caliper Guide Pin Boot Kit (RockAuto) -$20 delivered.
