Order some tires this morning. Decided to go with 195/60/14 Falken Azenis RT615K+ on the oem 14" wheels. I could have opted to get RE71R for the 15" NB wheels but didn't want to swap off the brand new BGF sport comp2s that are on there. Plus I figure I save about 2 lb per corner going with the 14" setup over the 15" setup. Next thing on the list is an alignment and then I should be ready for the first event at the end of the month.

Looking great! Are you going to try and get to 780tuners season opener this weekend?
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Ya i was pretty careful with those adjustment screws. One side seemed pretty tight at first and I was concerned about stripping it but everything worked out.

On the drive to work this morning I bedded in the pads. The people far behind me probably thought I was a little crazy.

Little bit of a scramble but the place I originally ordered the tires from said they had stock but they didn't have stock. I tried to find some substitutes but ended up just getting a refund. I ordered from another place and it was a bit cheaper and they shipped out the same day. Should have the tires by Friday.

The small overall tire diameter makes it seem that way.

The nice thing about a small light car means it doesn't need tons of tire to grip well in the corners :)

Got my alignment done this morning. It is a pretty good starting point for the car especially with stock suspension. I decided to do zero toe up front and a little bit of toe in with the rear. I asked the tech to max out the rear camber and then to give me a 0.5 degree less up front while getting the caster as close to 5 as he could.

Initially I was going to sit in the car like I did last time but the shop policy must have changed. He put 120 lb in the drivers seat though which was really awesome.

Took the car for a little test drive at lunch and she drives much better. The initial half degree of positive front camber was not helping matters initially. >:D

Thanks for the pictures Grant.

So first AutoX event in the books and what a blast it was. I might be the new cone killer champion. I hit a lot of cones on my first run and out of the 4 runs I ran none of them are clean. It was a great experience to be on track and meet some old and familiar faces. Can't wait to be back on the track again.
