New GC8 in Edmonton :)
« on: May 06, 2018, 10:00:26 pm »
Hello WRC! I am relatively new to the Subaru scene and I have just imported a 1999 STI that I am expecting to arrive anyway now! I understand that the EJ20k that is in it are far from bullet proof, and to some extent brittle from what I understand, with that being said are their any precautions or upgrades I should take when starting it, (spinning a bearing on the first day would be quite the bummer).  Other than that I have a APEXI pod filter waiting to install as soon as I get it. Any other first mod ideas would be greatly appreciated! I cannot wait!  ;D ;D

Welcome!

Change your oil, run 94, get a tune, and keep up with the basic maintenance.

How many KM is on the car?

I would also do the timing belt and replace any old seals and gaskets while you are in there.
