No hockey fans on here? 2018 NHL playoffs
« on: May 10, 2018, 01:23:35 pm »
It's been pretty good so far. Nashville and Winnipeg should have been the western final Imo, but still great hockey. I think a western team will win.

Who are you pulling for?

Either Winnipeg or Vegas cause Canadian team or first expansion team to win it in their first year. But really, I'm just happy TML are out.

I’d love to see Ovi finally get his Cup.

All of the above.

Vegas has been outstanding, and really the West has only one question mark: Fleury. It doesn't matter how good Nash/Peg ends up playing, if Flower stays hot it's not even a question.

I've doubted Tampa all playoffs long but they're too damn deep to count out - that being said, I would love to see Ovi get his cup because that would be one of the more emotional cup lifts since Ray Bourque won it with the Avs. I can see him now, raising the cup and releasing a roar, Maximus style...

Ovi winning it would be cool. I enjoy watching him play and score and I believe that if he won, he would be only the 2nd non-North American captain to win it (Lidstrom being the first and only currently)

I want Winnipeg to win, but Nashville will take it tonight.

The Vegas vs Nashville series will be good, but it will end 4-2. Nashville will take it if they can get by Fleury. As stated earlier, I also agree that he is the deciding factor in the series.

On the east, I want Washington to win because of Ovi, but I just don't think they'll get through the Bolts. They're too strong and too deep. If Washington had a little bit of a tough time with Columbus and Pittsburgh, they will have a much harder time with Tampa.

Final between Tampa and Nashville will be 6 games. Nashville takes it because Pekka Rinne stands on his head. He got through the rough patches, and now he will be an absolute wall.

Why do people speak in absolutes when anything can happen?  Case in point, tonight.

It's because they're young and haven't had their dreams crushed yet.

As a Canucks fan, definitely been crushed too many times to count.

Vegas is scary. I just don't know what to expect. Winnipeg looks so so good but Vegas is in such an unprecedented position that I'm not even sure what the series will look like.

I can firmly say now though that I will be happy with whoever wins the cup this year. Order of preference would be: Jets, Caps, Knights, Bolts. I still think Bolts-Jets final.

I'd love to see a Knights-Bolts final. The pace of play would be extremely fun to watch

I grew up outside Winnipeg, so obviously hoping the Jets go all the way. They showed a ton of control and finesse in last night's game. Quite a turnaround from game 6!  8)

I'm a life-long Oilers fan. I was also in attendance for the Oilers' wonderful collapse in game 5 and game 7 of round 2 last year. Many dreams have been crushed. I'm still salty about some of those calls against us.

I was just speaking in absolutes because I was actually quite confident that the Preds would win that one. I was wrong. I am happy to see the Jets move on however, and now it'll be quite the good showdown to see who ends up lifting the cup.

Whatever happens in the playoffs is an afterthought to the draft. The hockey world is just relieved that the dumpster fire of an organization in Edmonton didn’t get another first overall pick.

I was surprised at the Preds showing in game 7. Got man handled and didn't look like they even wanted to be there. Rinne shitting down his leg didn't help lol.

At this point, I'm just glad the Pens are out. Would like to see the Jets take it, and think they can with how they're playing. Wasn't sure how the east would look, but Tampa is looking outmatched. Wouldn't be upset with Ovi getting a cup. All my pools are lost by now anyway lol.
