I think ssswitch still has a set of 04/05 STi seats lying around. I mean they've been sitting in his garage for years, if he does still have them.

If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

And I have a couple from an 01, but you're likely gonna want to wait and find something with a better pattern lol

Seats might have to wait. I think the head gasket is going or gone.

1. White smoke from exhaust
2. Coolant down significantly in the last 3 weeks
3. Oil was a weird briwnish colour when I changed it. Not gritty and no metal. Just an off colour than I usually see.

Any insight?

Sounds like your headgaskets are on their way out

Head gasket is okay.

The oil compared to a vehicle with HG failure looked great, coolant hasn't gone down since my last post and ~400km of driving. Coolant looked great and showed no signs of combustion leak. No coolant on the engine block. White smoke hasn't happened since that day.

The only thing I can think of is the white smoke was steam from being left outside in the rain over night. The first time I checked coolant was before I fired it up to take it home from the importers. The second time being when I noted it was low (still fluid in the overflow, just closer to the 'low'). The white smoke/low reading coolant made me over think everything and freak out a bit.

I saw the car on Kijiji, how come you are trying to sell already?

Another vehicle popped up that would suit me better for long term. Only looking to sell AFTER everything goes through

Sold the JDM Cross Sport on Wednesday, and went to pick up this on Thursday

Seen it mentioned in the build thread that it was going to be listed for sale so I messaged him and worked out a deal before it hit the "For Sale" section. Although I did not own the Cross Sport for very long, it was an awesome vehicle and I was pretty sad to see it go.

Buying someones project always has its down falls. I am not too sure if I should continue on this build thread, take over Subiroo's thread, or start my own. For now I will post here.

First thing that needed to be addressed was the hard start up. It would crank for a very long time before firing up. The fuel pump was unusually noisy, and if I primed the car a few times it would start immediately. Swapped the Walbro 255 with an AEM 345 Pump that AFR had at their shop and Presto! Fires up with little cranking. I swear I took some pictures, but cant find them. All well

While checking over the engine I noticed some fluid under the throttle body on the block. I tore a bunch of itshay out to investigate *Note that the bottom bolt on the BPV was loose (potential boost leak??)  and the throttle body gasket was torn*. Got to here and spent a good while scratching my head and poking around hoses.

Noticed the 14mm bolt and investigated. There is a crush washer, regular washer, and a red gasket which were all mangled

Looks like this could be the issue here. Cleaned up what I could and added that to the parts list.

Found this gem also while checking things out

Pretty sure the Power steering pressure like is leaking. It is difficult to if that is the EXACT leak, but nothing above it is wet and the other fitting closer to the PS pump is also weeping. This one is going to be a itchbay to change by the looks of it and pretty expensive for a hose. Going to start tallying up the parts order.

I would say start over. It's always a new project when new hands touch it.

Start up a new build thread!

My old thread was falling apart since all the photos are disappearing.

Truly hope you have a good time with her - she has her quirks and areas to be improved on, but I hope you have as much of a blast building and improving her.
