Lots of factory chassis bracing

Supercharger is now bolted into the car. I am hoping tonight to have the intercooler pipes, radiator, alternator and some small things all done.

Well a quick update but finished buttoning up on the car on the weekend and got it ready for its first starting attempt on Monday. Overall the initial start / issues was left to a minimum thank goodness. I had some trouble getting the fuel pump to prime and pulled the fuel pump to inspect only to realize I forgot to reconnect the relay under the dash. Once I got that sorted it only took 4 cranks to get her fired up. The basemap as the name suggests needs a bunch of work but I already knew that going into this project. The only problems I had were a small leak at the heater core and some supercharger belt alignment problems. Hoping to get those issues addressed shortly and back to tuning / hopefully driving.

Last night i sorted the coolant and supercharger alignment issue and started tuning a bit of the idle.  I looked under the car again and noticed a new leak coming from the bell housing weep hole. I am pretty sure this is oil that is likely leaking from the recently replaced rear main seal. Looks like the transmission is going to get dropped again much sooner than anticipated.

I am pretty sure it is the rear main seal. I let the car sit for the weekend and knock on wood no leaks. I started the car and sure enough there was some small drops that came out of the bell housing weep hole.

I started to pull apart the transmission and doing this a second time is about twice as fast. My new set of wheels arrived earlier this week. This is my "street" setup that is getting 225/45/15 Hankook RS4

Big shout out to Spec R Motorsports for finding me a courier and receiving the wheels on Friday, mounting them Saturday and bringing them to Edmonton on Sunday. 10/10 would deal with again.

In other news the transmission, clutch and flywheel are off the car and I am just waiting for the Flying Miata rear main seal installer tool to arrive.

The WSC plate frame and my ironic licence plate are nice touches for the Miata.

New OEM real main seal installed and then I put the rest of the car back together last night. Once everything was back together I fired up the car and crossed my fingers and there does not seem to be a major oil leak which is a big sigh of relief. I took the car off jackstand for the first time in months and moved it to the other garage spot under its own power. Feels so good to be driving this car again and I cannot wait to take her on the street and start tuning.

Overall I am pretty happy with the progress and how everything is coming together.
