Baby steps. The car still needs proper fluids, a tune and some km to break in the clutch.

Yesterday I had an opportunity to actually drive the car on the road for the first time and start street tuning the car. Put about 140kms on her and she ran without any sort of problems. Currently the big pulley (low boost) is installed so I am only making about 6 psi at redline.

Yeah. It's come apart and been put back together in what seems like no time at all, for a very busy man. Very proud of you Stephen.

The wheel colour combination is also super good. What are your impressions of the RS4 vs. something like the Falkens you had on the other Miata?

I have not pushed the limits of these tires yet but they ride very nice on the highway compared to my R Comps 8). They should be a little bit better in the rain too if I get stuck in a rainstorm.

Another quick update but with close to 400kms on the car I am getting a bit more confident and comfortable driving the car without feeling like it will leave me stranded. I currently have the AFRs more or less dialed in and am now starting to increase the timing a bit. Next step will be to introduce the methanol injection to keep IATs at bay for track sessions. I doubt I really need it though as my intercooler setup is well engineered. I also added the small pulley on the car and it makes about 6 psi of boost in the midrange and tapers to about 10 psi at redline. Based on my injector duty cycle, virtual dyno results and comparing to other peoples car/tune the car probably sits around 200-210whp / 180 ftlb.

Here is a short sound clip of the car.

Yes. Come tune my Honda.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Drove the car to Calgary this weekend and I made it there and back without any major issues. Tuning is bit tricky with the throttle body location and the intercooler which makes it weather dependent. I am going to play with it a bit more and see if I can get the car to recover easier when I push in the clutch and come to a stop.

Tuning is getting pretty close to complete as far as WOT goes. I am going to rewire my methanol injection to be controlled by the ECU and start playing with that a bit. Ideally I want to tune meth for just a bit of a timing increase but more so to keep IATs at a reasonable level when tracking the car.

Saturday night we had the opportunity to take some great pictures of the car. Here are a few of my favorites. Once again big shout out and thanks to Spencer for organizing the photoshoot.

Here is a little bit of an update. The past few weeks have been full of ups and downs with the car. First issue I encountered is a mysterious miss on a cylinder that happened once the car was warmed up (about 10 minutes). Once the car cooled off for a bit she would fire right back up like normal running on all 4 cylinders.  Initially I thought this was an ignition problem so I ordered new coil packs and spark plus but these did not fix the issue. Next order of business was to isolate the problem. Determined that the injector on cylinder #3 was the issue. I ending up swapping injector #3 to cylinder #1 and it seems like the problem has more or less resolved itself. My guess is that the EV14 to denso adapter clip wasn't seated properly.

Now that the car was more or less back together and running properly I thought I would try and hit an ASA track event to give the car a proper shakedown. I didn't push the car too much but she ran all 3 20 minute sessions without too much issue. The only issue I had was a ruined supercharge belt due to a slightly damaged supercharger pulley. I have a new pulley on order that will fix this issue though. All that is left for the summer is install my stainless steel brake lines and really just enjoy the car.
