Two foot brake?
Not a subscriber of the technique... I believe you should fight until the the end to regain control and keep it on the tarmac. The only time I "let go" and went for a "safe exit" of the track I lost a car!

That said, the track is not the place to quickly develop car-control skills... do that at autocross or winter driving schools.

Both yours and tracker's vids...  I'd have brown pants after that experience.
Not even a heartbeat increase... you do it enough times and it is "just another day at the track".

I got asked this a lot and i was surprisingly calm. I have spun my car off track before and that was a more frightening experience.

Redbimmer93 let out the biggest OOOOOOOOOH when I hit the apex curb of turn 6 and slid it across the track while keeping on it. I bet it felt scarier to him than me...

This wouldn't surprise me ;D. I imagine riding along with a certain CTR through turn 1 on 2 wheels is a bit frightening.

Way scarier to be a passenger especially in your own car.

I spun at AutoX practice one evening with Rathburn in the car. I caught the first angle but the second was too much so I went two feet in. Put it in first and drove away.
I was more mad at myself than anything, upsetting the car mid slalom shifting into third. I was also surprisingly calm as well.

Didn't find that one at all scary as the passenger, totes saw it coming. I can imagine that at a track with other cars and/or walls, it would be a little more butt-puckering.

I've spun out at AutoX a few times, you're always just more mad at yourself than anything, unless of course you're planning on GrantC'ing it into a stationary object.

This year I am actually going to start tearing the car apart earlier so it will be back on the road for the spring. The supercharger is pending sale so I am in the middle of getting it removed and shipped to a new owner. Once the supercharger is out its time to pull the motor again.

Turbo?

That is the plan. Going EFR 6258 on a cast manifold with a full 3" exhaust.

Just waiting on the manufacture to finish fitment and testing on the kit designed to mount the turbo under the manifold. Lowers the CofG helps with heat management and a straighter downpipe but it makes the fitment tight.

Getting good use of the engine hoist at least! I guess I'm glad I never had to use it this year.

I'm excited to see this progress.

I'm surprised it can fit under there. I would have thought you'd have issues with the steering column and whatever else is jammed in down there. Or does the manifold come way up to the height of the VC? Will there be any issues routing the water and oil drain lines off the turbo?

It appears to fit but there is some modification to the water pump inlet neck and I need to massage part of the transmission for the exhaust to clear nicely. The turbo sits above the oil pan still so no worries about needing a scavenger pump. Shouldn't have any issues with the feed or water lines. In reality the turbo probably only sits 6-8 inches lower than a typical setup.

No plans for external gate at this time. One of the main reasons for going EFR is having everything built into the turbo (wastegate, BOV, boost control solenoid).

Probably never at this point. It seems a bit silly to sell all my supporting hardware and buy another platform. I already have a spare longblock ready to be built down the road.

HOOORAYYY
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.
