It might just sound loud as uckfay on the inside since you're basically piloting a plastic jug with the engine behind your head.

I agree.

You don’t buy a Lotus for their sound deadening or highway cruising comfort. It is unapologetic in it’s impracticality. Enjoy it for its purity.

I'm genuinely impressed by your shirt choice. Can you upload a photo of your shirt rack?

Thanks. It's a bit of an odd request for this forum,  but hey... why not right?  Kirsten and I made the spare room a second walk in closet for me (the other one is hers of course).  I needed more room as my suit jackets were getting deformed a little due to the cramped shared original closet.  I am missing four suit jackets from this picture as they are getting tailored now that I've lost 40lbs.

I have pretty outgoing tastes when it comes to my suits and shirts.  I like lots of patterns and prints.  When I walk downtown,  I like to have a different look than the rest of the grey suit drones.

I would like to get it tested before the autoX season next year as there is some concern.  Of course the supercharger is less than a couple feet from my head,  so that's likely a big factor as well.

Next up has been a project that CanadianJ has strongly recommended before driving her topless. This will be a shield for the rear window to try and protect it from rocks that come up and over the windshield.  Since the rear window is bonded to the clamshell,  it sounds like a monumental pain in the assay to replace. I'd like to avoid that if I can. There are places that sell these for 50$ and shipping from across the pond.

I went to my local Industrial Paint and Plastics (one of my favourite places to shop), and got some 1/16 lexan sheet. That and a few suction cups from Amazon, and started making my own for 20$. I never shy away from some CAD (Cardboard assisted design).

I'll finish cutting the lexan on a scroll saw at my other shop where I volunteer at mentoring kids in building techniques.

I was helping some buddies make a chump car and we used a windshield sized piece of makrolon. Used a Mastercraft jigsaw and it cut surprisingly well.

Sick.

Industrial Paint & Plastics is one of the best stores around (they have Noxudol!). It's also very, very dangerous to my wallet for reasons just like that.

Do you have a laser cutter to teach a poor disadvantaged youth (who may or may not be me) how to precision-cut thick acrylic?

Snuck out for a run today before (and during) the snow.  I had to have a look at some seriously cool wheels,  and the dude that had them was happy to let me try them on.

That jack is huge.

Those TE37's look awesome!  What is he putting them on?

You should do it.

If you're concerned that they're too wide, carbon fenders:

I do like the Volks. They are the style I like, they are light as hell, and they should be a good reliable wheel. I’m just a bit worried about the fit and the 25 offset pushing the outer rim edge too far out. Of course I could do flares or widebody, but I’m a bit nervous about cutting up the clam.

If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't do anything that couldn't be reversed.

What were the specs of the volks you tested?

15x8 ET 25 with a 73.1 mm bore.

I decided to go ahead and get them. The dude was awesome to deal with from beginning to end, and the wheels should tuck with the race alignment that will eventually get done. Plus geez!!! Look at those wheels!

Soon a call to Kyle at SpecR and we’ll get to seeing if cuttings needed.

With some negative camber (more than you have) the wheels/tires should fit nicely.

Only 15 inch wheels?  haha, the car is so small that it makes them look much larger!

Like the color too.

That’s my thought as well. It’s sitting a zero camber currently, and I’ll be looking for around -2 for street and auto-x. That should have too come in enough.

The 15’s are about the perfect wheel size for these cars. I’m hoping to shave a decent amount of weight from the corners and should help on the track.

So after owning Brynn a few weeks the only couple of complaints I have are the stereo and the time of year I got her. Being that I can only change one of those things,  I've been playing around with some ideas.

So the complaints with the stereo are the lack of Bluetooth, and a small complaint about the lack of umph the speakers/stereo (no amp) have.  The loudness is a bit of a small gripe as I mostly just listen to the engine,  but for longer drives I'd like to drown out the drone with some tunes. So I got to thinking about solutions for the stereo. Sony has a deck that pumps out 4x100 watt max, but that requires a home run wire to the battery, doesn't have inputs for a rearview camera, and no GPS.  Not a huge issue,  but I thought if I have to get crafty with the stereo anyway,  what other solutions are there that may include a few other options I'd dig.

-Bluetooth
-USB connectivity
-rear camera
-GPS
-possible OBDII connectivity for engine health

I'm still looking/playing around with ideas,  but I started thinking about using a raspberry pi for this.  I've never built one,  but there seems to be some pretty comprehensive build threads out there on the topic.  I have a 7" touchscreen and some time on my hands, so I've been playing with the idea of building a touchscreen stereo that may suit all these needs.

Anyone built a Raspberry carputer here? Here's a couple thoughts on placement.  I've seen folks move the HVAC controls up to the stereo placement,  and delete the stereo completely. I've been thinking about moving the raspberry pi screen lower to just below the existing stereo. Here's my scratchpad thoughts currently.

I sold Jeff some Diamond Audio speakers to go into stock speaker location and he is/was running some ebay single din deck that has Bluetooth, USB and rear camera input as well. His system sounds pretty good considering how hallow the car is in general. He's also running a small 6" self-powered sub in the car somewhere as well to give it some bass.

EDIT: Here's a picture of Jeff's deck. It was some cheap BOSS one he bought off Amazon IIRC.
