People here don't seem to like LL that much for various reasons (I prefer it to SS). I know 05LGT is out at SS today and is having a good time.

I'm one of those who don't care for LL and prefer SS, but hard to argue with 77cm of snow. Just not sure if I wanna get up that early tomorrow, and it'll be a zoo I'm sure.

Getting up early sucks but that first pow turn, I'm for it.

Traffic was almost a solid line heading past the Sunshine turn off this morning. Sunshine was great.

Fernie was pretty good last week. Had to stay up high as it was pretty icy towards the base. Going to be going again this weekend with my new setup and it's forecasting snow for the weekend! >:D

Bought a Sunshine card and only used it once and it was only towards a half day... Conditions were still early then about a month ago.

Took my 4yo for some lessons at Rabbit Hill, she seems to enjoy it more than skating, piano lessons, and gymnastics.

Anyone know where I can find used gear for decent prices for kids?
They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

I would go to Totem Outfitters on 99th street. Tons of used equipment for fair prices.

Has the ski swap event already happened? If not, that could be a good option. The wife and I went to look around last year and while there wasn't anything I'd want for myself, there was lots of kids stuff.

Heading out to Marmot this weekend, anyone been recently? If so, how have the conditions been?

It's been nearly 4 years probably since I have been to Jasper. Marmot is probably my favorite close mountain to ride (over Louise and Sunshine) so I'm looking forward to it!

The Canmore thrift shop usually has lots of ski stuff for a good price. Goes to charity too

Marmot is going to get absolutely dumped on tomorrow and Friday. I'd go Friday, but unfortunately i'm in Vancouver. Last I checked it was forecasted to be 70+ cm over three days. Should be cold, but good riding to be had!

Was down in Revelstoke over the weekend. Snow has covered the entire mountain top to bottom now, and the lower half of the mountain is actually in really really good shape if youre into groomers and/or going fast.

After another busy weekend for them, they could definitely use another good dumping to fill things back out. There's still snow to be had, but a fair bit of it is crusty and windblown now. Even the sub-peak hike to drop down into the back/greely bowl proved to be good but not great.

If you're looking for pow, wait until they get some more snow.

Spent 4 days at Big White over the long weekend. Snow was good, but they recorded the 3rd and 4th busiest days in history... That being said, the longest I waited for a lift was about 15mins which in reality isn't bad at all. It's just not what I'm used to being a local. Also, the lack of common courtesy was completely lost. People were blatantly cutting lines, skiing over your skis, and just so much more wrong doing I'm excited for things to be back to normal and a little more fresh snow would definitely help.

I feel like a lot of resorts are seeing this type of thing right now. Places are getting busier than usual :/

Fernie got hammered last night. No numbers on the website yet, but their latest Instagram post looks like it will be trenches all weekend

Edit: 50cm

Heading to Lake Louise to ride closing weekend this Saturday. Anyone been there in the past couple days? Conditions decent?

I have always been a huge fan of super slushy, warm spring riding.

Yeah, I went on Sunday as well. I'm currently in Banff for a conference and will likely ride again Saturday and/or Sunday. Hoping to do delirium if I can find a partner! LGT, do you have an avy beacon?

I don’t, never got around to doing AST because I don’t really have anyone that’s hardcore into off piste.

I ended up not doing delirium Saturday. My friend bailed on me last minute, so I decided to just rent skis and downhill ski for the first time. I feel like I picked it up quite fast and after 2-3 runs I was pretty comfortable.

Ended up on Goat's Eye in the afternoon, and the blues were fantastic for me to just dial in my turns and get used to the speed on skis. Still getting thrown off by moguls, but that'll be a part of my learning curve I guess. Just need to get more time on the skis.

With the dumping of snow that Banff/Calgary got in the afternoon and as I was leaving, I think it will be great for Sunday riding. I had 5-6 cm of slushy/fresh stuff, and I was very satisfied. Probably the best late season conditions I've ridden in the last 5 years. + there weren't many people there.
