Takata Airbag recall - 2013 STI
« on: March 02, 2019, 12:18:17 AM »
Looked up on the Subaru Canada website and input my VIN, sure enough, the Takata Airbag recall applies to my car as of Jan 2019, the website further stated that a passenger airbag has not yet been allocated to my vehicle. Did anyone else get their notification at all?? or did you just call up the dealer and cross your fingers!!

When I went for an oil change couple of weeks ago, they informed me about this airbag recall. They told me it would take 2-4 weeks for new part.

Yep, got the letter today saying not to let anyone ride shotgun, and that parts will be a few weeks yet.

Does anyone know what they're replacing it with? Where are these millions of airbags coming from?

Still waiting for my letter in the mail....I'm curious as to how big of a job it is to change out the passenger side airbag, I'm not a fan of having to tear down the dashboard!!!

I got a letter in the mail two weeks ago. Basically stated that the passenger airbag was recalled, but didn’t have a fix for it yet. Suggested I don’t carry passengers until the problem is fixed :-\

Well...I was told by the dealer the dashboard will be removed and it will take the entire day. I'm worried as to missing screws...more rattles, scratches...damages and nicks in the trim pieces....this sucks

Look on the bright side, atleast you don't have to take it to Subaru Calgary.
